As a filmmaker i have been saving up since last year to purchase an anamorphic lens.

Now the money money is complete but my friend talked me into buying a 1.8 corrola instead and find a driver that will be driving it as bolt.

Honestly i hate changing plans on the 11th hour but my friend made a vaible point.

Back to the lens i dont need it per say but due to the fact i have been shosting mostly anamorphic like 90% since last year i assumed buying one would be a good idea since renting them are pretty expensive, we are talking of about 70k per one.
Still on still the lens is not a necesity, its just a want because i can easily rent one when needed, but e dey short my ration sha.


To the business geeks in the house which one is the smater choice? Am based in Abuja.

Get a car....for yourself as it will ease your movement going for jobs or sealing a deal for your filming job and whenever you are free you can hustle with it as a bolt driver. Please and please don't buy a car for one idiot to drive for you as a bolt driver due to the risk involved.

Bro I'll advice you get the lens, the prices of camera gear is going up, you can still rent the lens and make money, but bolt can be complicated when you aren't the one driving. Btw I'm a filmmaker and editor based in Abuja I'd like us to link up.

If u wish, just that u have one money , I for tell you to buy both the car and lens . Since u have one money go for lens , then save up again for the car . If u are not the one going to drive the car , don't use the only money to buy car and give to a friend

This is only possible if you don't do balance and take.

Don't invest in a want. Buy only what you need. Money is difficult to get.

Why buy an asset you do not need? even big businesses and multinationals do not invest in "wants".

Buy the lens only if you need it or it will appreciate in value over time. If not invest the money.

Whatever gave you 8k$, invest in it and start making plans for the bolt business. It will give you time te research on it and take the best decision after. Don't go into business you no nothing about.
