About 36 residents of Keke B Community in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have reportedly been kidnapped.

The incident, our correspondent gathered, took place while many residents were preparing to retire for the day on Monday.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that the bandits, who operated unchallenged, moved from house to house.

According to Muhammad Salihu, a resident, “Many of us were still outside when the bandits attacked because it was quite early, around 8.30pm. They came in a large number, shooting sporadically and brandishing weapons.

“The broke into people’s houses one after the other and kidnapped the occupants. One person, a motorcycle mechanic, was able to escape from the kidnappers, but they went away with 36 residents.”

There is no official comment from security authorities at the time of this report. Efforts made to reach Mohammed Jalige, Police spokesman in Kaduna, did not yield result as his line was switched off.

Our correspondent, however, gathered that policemen are presently in the community to access the situation.

Daily Trust recalls that a month ago, seven residents of the same community were kidnapped including a man, his wife and their housemaids.

For every effective project/plan, there is always a downside. The fulani oligarchy intentionally made sure that Hausa children never attended schools. In order to indoctrinate them into the structures that will guarantee perpetual servitude, the ruthless fulani oligarchy created the very utterly useless almajiri religious/cultural indoctrination system, where the children of mainly Hausa peasants are taken from them to far away lands to be schooled in purely religious teachings. No room was made for any sort of formal education or skills acquisition. This has gone on now for close to two centuries! Millions of religious zealots with skills only good for subsistence farming! The chickens are coming home to roost...

What are the consequences of this? Millions of young people walking around aimlessly in each northern state. More than a million almajiri children walk around the streets of every single core northern state... Most of these almajiri graduates, whose proficiency in koranic recitation are simply unmatchable, an never boast of any basic skills to free themselves from poverty through productive economic engagemens. They used to depend on agriculture to get by since the federal governments "import bans" on agro products favoured northern farmers a lot. But with their population explosion, Boko Haram insurgency effecting farmers and with southerners finding alternatives in fish farming and poultry, these young men are increasingly becoming jobless and useless. This is why they consume most illicit drugs in the country today and now with kidnappings and insurgency, alternative means of livelihood have been born. It will take more than a generation to cure the core North of her self inflicted afflictions..

Ok we know the govt is totally incapable of protecting citizens, why in God's name will they not allow citizens arm themselves? Its time for a general strike/ Sit down to demand a law change allowing citizens to beat arms to defend themselves
