Happy new year.
Bro.

all these to me are negligible and should be discarded

We are supposed to scrutinised based on your plan and how you going to achieve it.

IMO BAT isn't fit physically...he is obviously unhealthy to carry d burden of d country and d gamble will be too much for Nigerians..

His plan on "exchange rate" is a reality of his thinking process....

His idea of employing d youth into NA is a plan that could make you wonder.

We would never know.

Truthfully, I don't think improved health would have mattered or changed much in terms of results. Ruling as a military head of state is different from being an elected president.

After 8 years, Buhari has shown he lacks the knowledge, sense of awareness, expertise and more importantly the accountability to take ownership for the failures in the country. The commentaries coming from the presidency over the last month has been one of resignation to the challenges. I have listened to Buhari speak severally and there is nothing stimulating enough to keep my attention because he is not saying anything specific that will address the problems of Nigeria and it is reflected in the actions the executive have taken in addressing any of our glaring issues.

This is why I said, all the aspirants know the mess Nigeria is in right now. If anyone knows he is going to use Buhari's failures as a platform to excuse their own failures then the person should not waste the time of Nigerians because it will be deceit. Nigerians are suffering baba, things are so bad right now. The incoming president should be ready from day one to make meaningful impact, not just talk but meaningful impact in addressing some of our pressing needs.

I can't imagine what another 4-8 years of failure will look like for Nigeria.

Campaign na marathon, not a sprint.

Tell your candidate to face camera, hold live interviews, tell us his plans for Nigeria in a debate with other people's candidate without reading a prepared speech which he finds difficult to flip the pages....

You are expecting stimulating discussions from him? From someone with impaired faculties?

It seems you guys think a foolish man is the same as a foolish man with brain damage.

Anyway this is actually an unwanted digression. The major point is that good health ESPECIALLY good cognition is essential to being the president of a country like Nigeria.

A president cannot be telling us he has no concern for the exchange rate. Its a major concern because we currently are importing virtually everything

We cannot automatically transform overnight and start producing. There ought to be balances while the transition takes place

While his cognitive health is important, Buhari lacks the core competence as evidenced by his time as the military head of state and that is why I question his abilities irrespective of his health.

The sad reality is that Nigerian's don't even have access to the true state of his physical health, worth more his intellectual/ cognitive health which degenerates with age.

The defense of people who support that statement is we need to look inwardly and produce locally. I agree with that.

But it cannot happen overnight. And a president cannot say he wants to be oblivious of that fact.

Everything we need, we want to produce, and even the means to produce it depends majorly on the exchange rate.

This is why I harp on accountability and ownership when it comes to leadership.

GEJ is not on the ballot this coming election, neither would Buhari. Leadership is not for everyone and that is why we have bad leaders. People who force their way into leadership, subsequently fail because they lack the core competencies of being a good leader.

If this cycle of blaming previous leaders for their obvious failures then there is no need to have elections/ change in government.

It’s so annoying when we talk about current insecurity challenged this administration has been unable to proffer workable solutions to; only for u to see their apologists come up with stuff like - there’s always been farmers-herders crises since the 80’s, there’s always been separatists agitations, even under Jonathan Boko Haram was hoisting flag in LGA’s in the north east ….. blah blah …. Black sheep .

I mean for 4ck sake! We are here talking about serious security challenges that has been so bad that terrorists are shooting at the air force with anti-aircraft guns, terrorists are attacking presidential guards , terrorists are taking over runway of an airport , terrorists are posting videos and pictures of their victims on open internet and they have not been challenged successfully or made to pay for these audacities.

As I dey like this, I don dey Siddon look mode. Make dem vote anybody dem want; democracy has always been a case of less conscious majority imposing their choice on the more conscious minority . Las las na the majority go still suffer the brunt.

Nigerians don't learn. That's the problem. We are more concerned if the person ruling is affiliated to us in some way, rather than if the person is performing.

That's why Buhari, despite the nonsense first term, came back again.

The defence would most likely be that our obsession with the USD creates an artificial demand which is causing the USD to rise against the Naira. grin

We shouldn't be bothered that our Naira is falling yet the exchange rate of 210/$ under Jonathan was used to campaign against him...lol

USD to Naira changed by like 80% from 2007 to 2015 when Jonathan left, and less than 8 years later we're seeing an almost 230% change in the exchange rate. We're an import-heavy economy with an insufficient balance of trade for our over 200 million population but we should not be bothered by exchange rates that are flying through the roof.

We shouldn't bother that the USD is rising to the Naira yet Emefiele keeps coming up with absurd policies to stabilize the Naira.
