izzou: I understand why you don't want Tinubu. It's simply because he seems old and unhealthy. Also coz Buhari has failed this Nation. But is Obi the real Messiah? Does he have what it takes to turn the Situations around? |

Oasis007: He's not. I have never believed he has what he takes. My stance is that we need to change parties so they can actually sit up. Rewarding failure with more work will leave us worse than before. 4 Likes 1 Share |

ToyinDipo: Yar'Adua wasn't a saint or necessarily better. We have a culture of idolising and whitewashing the legacies and pasts of leaders in the distant past and canonising them. Yar'Adua was a weak leader and his presidency was marred by corruption and illegalities. Here's an LA Times op-ed on Yar'Adua, for example: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2010-may-07-la-me-umaru-yaradua-20100507-story.html . ASUU went on strike twice under Yar'Adua (when he wasn't hospitalized) and at a point for 4 straight months in 2009: https://www.pulse.ng/communities/student/all-the-times-ASUU-has-gone-on-strike-since-1999/5jtb8cs . Same way we canonise Zik and Murtala Mohammed. Some of us dig into and do comparative history, including of sociopolitics. But Yar'Adua was just the lesser evil so far. He had barely 2 years to fully manifest as good or bad. 1 Like |

Theflint1: Make una stop this Ish nah. This joke is taking too far. I've never worked as a civil servant at any level before, yet I pay my taxes duly, even while not in the Country. Onye whatever is a civil servant, Federal civil fúckin servant for goodness sake! He's gaming the System, yet you guys are looking for flimsy excuses to exonerate him or what? Is this how to rebuilding Nigeria? 5 Likes |

izzou: Osinbajo publicly asked CBN to stop artificially propping up the Naira only last year. The below is why. Whilst you guys are complaining about current exchange rate, CBN spent 3 billion dollars in 2 months this year to even keep it from getting worse. Does that sound sustainable to you? 6 Likes

Illimitable: Realistically we cannot get a military regime and that comes with its own problems of human right abuses and nowadays in the day of Twitter and Social Media you cannot get away with. Military works when you have a media blackout where you can do anyhow. Ordinary serving BokoHaram terrorists wotowoto alone will have amnesty intl calling you We have to work within the current structures of democracy and see what little progress you can make |

izzou: Are you sure that's the solution? For instance if Obi is mistakingly elected, are you sure we ain't gonna be praising Buhari and hope he could have done 3rd term? |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 7:50pm On Jul 26, 2022 |
nihilistjnr: No sir While it's being maintained by the CBN, we are crying. Imagine when it's not. I'm not saying Tinubu should give us clear cut answers in that video. I'm saying it was ignorant of him to say he doesn’t care. Buhari locked the borders to rice for a year. Did it make rice cheap in any way? Anybody that wants to sit there should be bothered about it. 1 Like |

Oasis007: None of these guys can be trusted. And I don't blame the followers if they fall for the bait. Egbon Dayo was campaiging massively for Buhari in 2015. 7 years later, he's advising us to leave Nigeria if we can because e don cast. Let's change them. If Obi is not performing, we kick him out. The same goes for all aspirants in all levels, since they are all the same 5 Likes |

izzou: I understand you sha.... but still 100% batified. I believe Tinubu is gonna assemble best heads to fix Nigeria. Its really not about him, coz only one person can't fix Nigeria.... that's a fact. You need intelligent, competent heads around you to get the Country fixed. Tinubu has proven himself in that regard, and I seriously hope he's gonna do same as President of Federal Republic of Nigeria right from next year.

Oasis007: It's just the truth, devoid of emotions. They are all the same. I no need to go and verify anything. The best solution is to change them when they flop. No need to believe anyone |

raumdeuter: In that case, we shall never have the progress we all seek. This whole idea that Nigeria will turn to Abu Dhabi once you replace the head of the executive arm of the government is a fantasy. Democracy can never work in Nigeria, we are only postponing evil days. The issue here is simple. A father of obedient kids would use his cane fewer times than a father of stubborn kids. Now put that exponentially over 200m people and you would get the idea of the complexity of Nigeria. Nigeria is a nation of stubborn/corrupt people. Without the cane(brutality, making example of people, dire consequences for bad behavior, etc), the people will not change. This is why the Buhari regime of ‘84 was able to bring about massive changes and reforms than what we can ever get now. 11 Likes |

Illimitable: I agree with this especially the part in bold. Nigeria has very deep problems and issues that no individual can unilaterally solve cos as you are trying to solve one, Some people are actively sabotaging you. Whether its politicians, Civil servants or just the some people wey dem head touch UGM BokoHaram Herdsmen are killing yet you dare not order a wipeout on them, you have to arrest them bring them for a lenghty trial and become another long tale Any program you plan even if it will benefit the country, you have to run it by the senate. Until recently the years budget will not be passed till July September because some Senators want some things padded into it If you know the corruption going on in civil service, There are so many useless and redundant ministries whose job is just to collect salary. There is a National Population Commission that gets salary monthly and we have only had 2 census in my lifetime There is a Nation Reconciliation Commission, National Boundary commission, National Refugee commission. Just type National and add any 2 random words to the back there is likely something like that existence. You cannot scrap all these without going through the HoR and Senate |

onyemaair: So what are you going to do to the jobless 50 million youths in Nigeria? The job market cannot absorb them because there’s no vacancy anywhere. Nigerian universities produce more graduates than available jobs. Russia has a compulsory military service for every male between ages 18-27. I think such programs should be introduced in Nigeria between ages 18-33 for 3 years. We cannot just have an unproductive number of youths in the millions doing nothing. I would rather have them in the army fighting bandits than walking around aimlessly in Lagos. 13 Likes |

Illimitable: Can the government feed them ? The government could not even feed poor and vulnerable Nigerians for a month during COVID-19, yet u talk of the government feeding millions of youth forcefully conscripted into the army for 3 years max….. Those currently in the army don’t even get paid well, they have to wear their uniforms to save transport fare in places like Lagos just to survive the current economic realities . Go to places like Mile 2, iyana iba, orile , festac side etc …. Most of the commercial bike men there are military and security officers using their bikes as side hustle just to survive with their families . Where Government wan take see money take care of the soldiers welfare ? 1 Like |
