Lexusgs430: If not that GBP is crashing against the USD, we should have been at around N850 by now. Very sad for Nigerian Economy, but some of us who have fixed cost projects in Nigeria will be getting the relief. I will be converting some GBP tomorrow to USD and then to Naira. Last time I did that on Thursday, it was about N763/£, let's see what I get tomorrow |

phyl123:It is indeed. To be honest the building both inside and out is an embarrassment to call a consulate, but at least if they're working and folks aren't going through pains to get or renew passports we can condone the other issues for now. |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Solumtoya: 2:45pm On Jul 27, 2022 |
justwise: Most times, no. Could swing either way but it's more about the convenience for me. If I send it to my USD Account in Nigeria, I can sell to my aboki easily through Bank Transfer in Nigeria. The other option is selling to someone here but since I'm not a trusted vendors like the known elders, that would be tough and stressful and I might not trust anyone I don't know to send them Pounds first. The third option is Lemonade but the low rate is doesn't interest me. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Solumtoya: 2:47pm On Jul 27, 2022 |
Lexusgs430: Hahaa! Don't mind Emefiele. He had a point though. Abokifx was so powerful that they could be manipulating the rate. And if they could, they probably did |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by TheGuyFromHR: 2:47pm On Jul 27, 2022 |
justwise: My thoughts exactly. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by TheGuyFromHR: 2:49pm On Jul 27, 2022 |
Solumtoya: The parallel market rate, yes. The so-called official rate is fixed inside Emefiele's bedroom, so that one is beyond Abokifx. It is long past time for the naira to be floated, had it been floated back in 2017 it would have found its level by now. Of course, the round-trippers can't let that happen. 1 Like |

TheGuyFromHR: Of course, there are so many such decisions that aren't rocket science, just that those to take the decisions lack sincerity so they would rather keep beating about. |

Solumtoya: The only time changing to $ then naira will benefit you is when £1=$1 and $1 to a naira gives you more than £ else it’s garbage in garbage out. |
