Bremer of Juventus. No more Torino. wink

And I dare say Lisandro Martinez too. The EPL will see how good that guy is.

yea I forgot he has joined juve. Martinez is very good but I decided not to mention him before Andrew will come for me saying I am hyping him because he is a united player grin

I pray that soon our own bassey will be counted also to be among the best CBs/lb in europe

I know why I left out Upamecano. He will likely play subordinate to De ligt and Lucas Hernandez at Bayern in 22/23 just to show you how quality packed Bayern is in defence but yes he has improved.

The name you should be adding to my list is Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate. Another top young CB.

then add Bassey LOL

nah! too premature to do that. He has to perform in the Dutch league and ucl to be counted first. For now he is among those tagged as huge prospects

I love Charlesemeka85's answer to this already as it was exactly the answer I was gonna give.

But Philosopher I wanna ask you something. Have you watched the lad play before? If so, how many games of his have you seen? because I have and I am not keen on just handing to the keys to our midfield to the lad just yet. He needs to show his stuff on a higher stage than the primavera.

He is talented, left footed and shows real potential but lad is still raw in some aspects of the middle game dynamics. He needs a little more time.

That he is now named captain of the Milan U19 is good but not enough to finally cap him. They did it to keep him from moving to another side as well.

Nosa Obaretin just left that same Milan U19 to Napoli U19 as reported by my Italian buddy which Own Goal Nigeria quoted in their story (yep, the guy broke the story to me first and posted it on his news TL but asked which Naija media he can approach with the story and I told him ANS and OGN even though I don't rate OGN so much. So that's how OGN got the news).

My point on the overall is to allow Victor Ehuwa Eletu keep growing into the exciting potential we both know he has. But giving him the midfield keys right now is not wise. We have more mature and better ball playing midfielders who can take up that mantle right now.

As for Next Mikel... Time will tell. Truth is he isn't close to a Mikel at 17 even right now. He still needs work. If you watched Mikel at 17, you will know what I'm talking about. Till date, K.Nwakali is still the only player who comes close to Mikel's talents and playing style both at age 17 and even now. The only irony is how successful Mikel was and the fact Nwakali is still finding his feet at 24.

Let us hope Eletu grows into same mould as he's a ball-playing CDM cum CM. Time will be kind to him, I am hopeful.

Philosopher1979:
Victor of eletu of ac milan youth team should be capped by Nigeria immediarely. I mean he should be our midfield general from now on. He shoul be seen as the next mikel.
Uf he plays well for us ac milan or any other club will have to put him in their first team. Gabj is allready in the first team of barcelona and spain and why not Victor Eletu

Best young CB in the world?

Matthijs de ligt is younger than both and also in that conversation. He is also the most valuable young CB on the market.

You should rather say you have two of the best young CBs in the world coz alongside them we also have Bastoni, Militao and even Wesley Fofana.

2 of the best going CB in the world baba ,you suppose know that’s what I meant

Nerdy have you watched araujo ? If you watch him you go like am die

Wesley fofana hasn’t played much football ,he is too injury prone and only played 7 games last season but a good player ,all the names I mentioned and the ones you mentioned are better than him .

You are right about militao bastoni ,I rate everyone you mentioned ahead of de ligt apart from fofana ,de ligt struggled at little at seria A ,man has not lived up to his Ajax hype ,juventus flinged him for Bremer ,I will still give him room for improvement because he is still 22

And how do I forget Liverpool konate and Saliba of arsenal ? I will take every player mentioned here over de ligt ,apart from fofana ,he is highly rated ,I just need him to play 20 consecutive games make I check something again

Araujo is very good and among few I wanted at United to bench English fridge maguire before he settled his contract issue with Barca

De ligt didn’t struggle bro, for a CB of his age he was pretty good for juve and Bayern won’t cough out 50m to sign him if he was trash

Fofana is rated because of his exploits before he got injured so been out for time doesn’t rob him of being among the best young CBs in europe currently

He struggled a little, wasn’t that bad and wasn’t that good ,didn’t give us the Ajax hype standard

hmmmm, you don’t expect a young CB from the Dutch league to boss serie A in his first season. It took him time to settle and when he did he was good

Isn’t Lucas Hernandez good? For a lb converted to cb position as they did to Alaba he isn’t doing bad

Barcelona is one of my top 10 favorite teams to watch in the world so why won't I ever have watched Ronald Araujo? Na wa for you ooo.

I even saw him in that preseason el clasico vs Real Madrid where he was not just good to see but he was already establishing a battle marker with Antonio Rudiger ahead of the new season. grin

And yes, perhaps you worded it wrong and that is why I wanted to stress it.

And De Ligt have done something at age 19 which I don't believe any of the other young CBs I mentioned have done.
He led Ajax at age 18 as their captain to UCL Semifinals in 18/19 season. That is Colossal my man.
Won Eredivisie same season as Captain aged 18 before clocking 19 ahead of the beginning of the 19/20 season.

Truth is this is one of the big reasons De Ligt is so highly rated and respected in the football World. A lad so young yet already a defensive leader. This is why Bayern went for him. To Make him their defensive leader.

Militao did win the UCL with Madrid as a key part of the Madrid defence, yes, but he did so just recently. He was not 18 or 19.

Bastoni too delivered a true Masterclass in Inter's 20/21 serie A winning season.

Fofana is already so highly rated and was part of Leicester's successful 20/21 season where they won the FA cup. Played 28 league games and played his part in the FA Cup final win vs Chelsea.
Injury limited his plays last season but his first season was solid.
Already linked with Chelsea this summer due to them losing out on Kounde to Barca but Leicester so far hasn't bulged.

Bremer is good and deservedly was Serie A's best defender last season. Him replacing De Ligt was a no brainer as Juventus knew they were losing a tip defensive player who was initially thought as the future leader of their defence. Truth is De Ligt never got the defensive responsibility he needed due to the presence of Chiellini (who just left recently) and Bonucci. He was not considered their leader and De ligt loves the added responsibility of being the one organising the backline and this is exactly what Bayern have brought him for.

Every name I mentioned alongside your mention Kounde and Araujo have earned it some way or the other but the most highly rated and most valuable of them all remains Matthijs De Ligt.

bailey is likely to join Roma

I never told you that epl is the best league in the world but what makes it more competitive is the strength of the top 6 teams in the league

I will say the 1st and 2nd position is for city and Liverpool but who will finish 3rd and 4th is very difficult to predict unlike what is obtainable in laliga

I am a big critic of the English press that always claim that the best players are in the epl as wel as over hyping of English/British talents. I hv always suggested that my beloved man united should sign more players from other leagues in europe which will cost the board less via sign on fees and wages. I am a kin follower of laliga, bundesliga and serie A where unknown talents are scattered doing well for their modest clubs

Imagine an average player like Declan rice tagged a 150m pounds player? Imagine average grealish going for 100m to city,Maguire aka fridge for 80m to united, Wan bissaka for 50

To make it worst the media tend to force this average English players to top clubs with their mouths on air cheesy

I got very angry the day Micah Richards said that benzema because of his exploits with Madrid last season is at the same level with Harry Kane that almost pushed Thierry Henry to punch him cheesy

Also when this players are underperforming after the hype, huge wages and sign on fees the same media comes to their defense by making excuses that the coaches aren’t deploying a system that brings out the best of the players

Different teams has always finished 3 or 4 in Laliga sir ,it’s only recently Sevilla decide to cement that place which they might later loose ,Atm wasn’t a regular in the champions league befofe Diego someone

We have all watched Valencia ,real sociedad Villarreal Bilbao ,Malaga in the uefa champions league for the past 10 season on different occasions

Leicester is the only surprised English team we have seen in the champions league for the past few years

Yes, he is indeed highly rated at Milan and I hope he can begin getting first team chances soon enough. That is how eager I am to see him at a level beyond the primavera.

He's far from an Etebo.... not a ball hugger.
But he does have traits of an ndidi on his defensive side. The only plus is his ball playing ability, passing range and Vision which can all be improved on and then we will get a clearer picture of what kind of midfielder he can become.

My eyes are on him as keenly as they are on other Naija lads across Europe. We will hear more about him this season for sure especially now that he is Milan U19 Skipper.

if he has good vision and passing ability then he is a good talent who deserve to be followed. I pray he makes it to Milan’s first team in 2 seasons time or atleast move out on loan to a mid table team in serie A or the italian 2nd tier

Lol... you are harsh shaa.

But to be fair, a player who had 6 assists last season from defensive positions, got more involved in his passing into opposition areas and increased his tackles per game is said to have improved.

So Charlesemeka85 is right. Upamecano did show improvements last season.

He should continue with his progression and also should be a good option for our u20 team. I think such step with our youth team will give the current super eagles handlers a proper insight on his talent
