I was the creator of a thread here, where I wrote about a certain man that scammed me and claim to have been kidnapped when I started asking for my money back.

I submitted a petition against him to the police and invitation was sent to him. But over a month now he has refused to honor police invitations, he kept telling them he will come the next day, given unreasonable excuses, in one occasion, he even said it was raining. His lawyer from report is even encouraging him, because the lawyer has been promising the police to bring him by himself but always fail. I don't think any deal has been reached with the police because I have good people in the department that I reported the case too. And they are even more angry now with the suspect and eager to arrest him.

However, the department said they have minuted my file, stating all the back and fault the suspect and his lawyer have been doing, to the CP, so he can direct them on further actions to be taken. I believe this is the official procedure.

However, they have been looking for the man but places he normally visits before the invitation, he now avoids them like plagues, even his offices. It is obvious that he has gone into hiding.

Now my question is
1. Can't the police arrest the lawyer? For promising police to provide his client and never did?

2. The suspect has a business that is running, yet he is on the run, can't the police seal his business? I believe this will force him out.

3. Can he be referred as a fugitive at this point? For refusing to honor police invitation and avoiding his offices?

4. Is there any amount involved in fraud before a person can be declared wanted? He defrauded me #2.8m. I don't know if they are considering it small.

Please, lawyers in the house should help clarify these and also advise me on further actions that I can take.

A colleague has even asked the police to help him locate his landlord so that he can pay up his rent to no avail. The said landlord is neither picking his calls nor responding to SMS. He has been avoiding his house like a plague for a while now. His family does not live with him and no one knows his whereabout.

But a fellow tenant has dropped a hint that his daughter confessed that the landlord did something unimaginable in that compound.

What will be the penalty if the landlord refuses to show up via police invitation?

amount in question too matters, the police are trying to follow due procedure. The business is a different entity, if you are in possession of a cheque from him or a promissory note stating pay back and amount, that will be different.

I just got back from the police station this evening on a case about my brick layer who failed to do my fence after paying him. My brick layer also failed to honour police invitation till I took a policeman to his house and ever since, we have been dragging him and he is now compliant. Thereare still some good policemen, I tell you.

Forget his lawyer, that one is just milking him.

Do your own investigation about his whereabouts and lead police to the place.

You have a strong case and he knows. He also feels if he evades you for a long while , you might just give up.

Don't give up.

Over my dead body will I give up. A lawyer is advising me to start a civil suit against him, where judgement can be given with or without him appearing in court and we can get my money from the sales of his properties.

I am considering that option too. God will help me.
