Yes. That is the main problem and i think it is due to lack of game time at RB at senior level. He played RB at youth level but at senior level on loan he mainly played at RWB.

Dalot can start for now but Laird should play Europa League and some low profile games. He is over 2 years younger than Dalot so he will take the shirt sooner or later.

that was a much improved second half performance from Laird.
many attacks broke down with Chong. he had a really disappointing show. he's gone on enough loans already, a sell option will be best for all parties.
Iqbal will be important for us at some point this season.
the guys that ended the game showed more sync in their passing and movement.

I think any incoming transfer should be one that can go straight into the starting line up or there's no need to spend.
we have many players good enough as covers.

Iqbal needs to work on his vision more and he'll be a real one. He often picks the wrong pass atimes because he's not aware of a more positioned teammate. I've seen him do that a few times this pre-season.

But one thing you can’t deny is his talent and football intelligence.

Before he came in, we couldn’t build up from the back. But once he came in, that stopped being a problem. Additionally, he dominated that midfield and dictated play.

His 20min cameo was more impactful than Garner’s 60 mins and whatever McTom has offered us.

I’m just concerned about his ability to carry on like this. He needs to be protected, nurtured and tutored. Really a talented lad.

Sending him out on another loan will be unfair, the guys playing RB currently don't really have much on him. I hope he stays, stays fit and gets a breakthrough season: his explosiveness for one was a beauty to see.

Ethan Laird doesn’t seem to offer more than Dalot going forward- from what I’ve seen this preseason. But his defensive abilities is way better than Dalot’s though.

And maybe he just needs to play with the first team to properly gauge his performance .

Can't say much, let's hope he plays with the first team for a couple of games too. Hopefully they keep him
