Everything in Nigeria is about politics.

What about Akwa ibom, Rivers, cross Rivers and ondo?

Dead country

This thing surprises me too.

Why is Tinubu holding Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross RIvers, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi states from developing nah. Even during PDP's 16 wated years, this same Tinbubu was holding all PDP controlled states from developing.

Abi, this Tinubu nah Spirit ni?

SO, STOP LIEING.

Stop talking like a chastened child
Lekki port too is PPP
The state government provided the land . Do not forget the state OWNS the land ., in return for a share of the business and the FG via its constitutional power to grant approval also has a share so both the FG are shareholders ,minor shareholders. Whilst the investor is the major shareholder of the business for the next 45 years
Neither the FG nor LASG is putting in any cash

You are bitter and cannot hide it

Why do you folk argue so bitterly over matters concerning Yoruba .Why are you so bitter and envious?

Construction of Africa’s largest deep seaport situated in the Badagry area of Lagos has officially started. The project is a joint venture between Integrated Logistics Services (INTELS) and the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA).

What happened to the approval of seaport construction in South South region. No investors to finance the project. And no sea in South East. Building river ports in those region will no be a wise investment because they'll need to transfer cargos from larger vessel to smaller one that can navigate through the river ways which will add to the landing costs of good. Instead south south governors that have the approval to build seaports in their states should source for investors like Lagos state did. Let's not deceive ourselves, a region needs to be relatively peaceful to attract investors.
Who told you there is no sea in southeast. Onitsha is a good location because of proximity to the sea. It could be dredged to accommodate ships.
But FG won't because of primordial attachment.

It's nairalands fault u can't see me in person and tell me this. FYI the port is FG owned and peanut from it is shared to LG as wharf landing.
That peanut is still embezzled by d LG so how are you progressing ?
In already congested Lagos you want to add 2 more ports when there are other states available for it. Most of the containers from d port goes to the east and others to the North, very few in SW. Why make them drop it down here when there are places in SS ND SE for it
You talk like a typical illiterate, when you're done with your secondary School, come back and let's talk.

Lagos is already congested with just Apapa port yet 2 more ports are coming up in Lekki and Badagry axis.

The Federal government should as well develop water channel through Berger and Iyana Ipaja, let's know the 4 corners of Lagos have been circled with ports while other states are begging for one.

In 2040, another generation will tell you how Tinubu and Sanwolu alone developed Lagos.

In 2040, what will another generation says about your governor and ex governors in your state?

Or are we going to carry the container on our head

If completed tomorrow.... would the Badagry Expressway
greatly reduce traffic jams? If no ... what will happen when the Port is opened and heavy truck traffic is added to the mix? You may very well be right..... about fetching containers on head. Visionary leader indeed.

Two things

1. There is no law or enactment that says FG owns ports. Every single concession is a contract and it depends on what is written in the contract . This is a Build operate and Transfer contract without reading the contract do not jump to conclusions about ownership after the concession period. It could transfer to the FG OR the FG and LASG . Nothing in the constitution stops that
2. It has nothing to do with airports they are completely separate arrangements

It is ignorant and patronizing to come online and tell people what they need to read. You think you know but do not know as much as you think you do

You claim all airports in Nigeria are owned by the FG

Can you substantiate that?

If you have a point to make make it about the ports . Extending that to airports and roads is beer parlor logic.

Every concession is a CONTRACT
No two contracts are the same. You are assuming that they are . I can tell you there is nothing in the constitution to support that assumption

You sound like an ignorant brate ,who doesn't know what the word Similarity means.
Guess to u , go read sounds like a great insult

kudos to Lagos, but the city needs a good master plan. too much traffic due to lack of good master plan.....

Government should also push for more development of other ports, that way, the country grow bigger.........but I don't see that happening under this woeful Buhari regime.
Re: Federal Executive Council Approves Badagry Port. by aribisala0(m): 6:48pm On Aug 03, 2022
This was Amaechi speaking earlier this year

He stated that ports like, “Ibaka and Badagry are private seaports. I think Ibaka has gotten approval. We are fast-tracking that of Badagry so that they can also get their approval. By the time we leave office, all those ports will be approved,” he said.

He maintain that the “only port that government may participate in its ownership is the Bonny seaport”.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari visited Lekki seaport after inaurating Dangote fertilizer plant that is also located in Lekki, Lagos State

u think pdp will do this for lagos?? Buhari has to release funds owe by the pdp to Lagos state govt. That's the reason u need to be at the centre, if Lagos and govt at centre has been on same party, Lagos wud have move faster because the master planner was just been held by govt at centre so they are d one who developed it . All this were possible because they belong to d same party. Obj a yoruba man was against Lagos for his 8yrs and the master planner still rugged it

There is no sea in the SE
It is landlocked
It cannot be dredged because of the environmental impact on downstream states like Delta and Bayelsa
Why should such states agree to dredging instead of a port in their own states.

Dredging is not just down to the FG the downstream states will have a say and it is not in their interest because of risks of flooding and destruction of the fishing livelihood of their natives
It is a selfish idea and totally unnecessary

Dredging will never turn a river into a sea. The point still remains that vessels won't be able to navigate through the river because of their weight and size is too massive.
