PHIPEX: If you read the news you will know that it’s not being built by federal government. Lagos led by Tinubu and other progressive governors have attracted private investors to Lagos to build the port. There’s no federal input. Read the news again. Now go and wail on the neck of your southeast corrupt governors to stop stealing and get to work. Tell IPOB to stop killing and improve security in your shithole states. Perhaps investors might look in your direction. 10 Likes |

Yet they want to conscript their future to him. We shall vote Tinubu again and again, even if he is in wheelchair. Tinubu brain is 100% better than a dullard brain of Obi. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

PHIPEX:Lagos state is not congested because of the Port that is nonsense. Have you ever heard of Felixstowe?? Most people have not No big deal except it is the largest port in the UK . it has apopulation of under 50 000 and handles a lot more tonnage than Lagos both export and import Singapore has the 2nd largest port IN THE WORLD many times busier than Lagos Singapore has an area of 728 square kilometre and a population of 6 million Busiest Port in Europe = Rotterdam population 600000 So all this talk of CONGESTION whatever that means is Nothing to do with the ports. Many people are coming to ride okada in Lagos what has that got to do with ports? It has more to do with the fact that other states are not creating jobs Lagos needs and will build rail evacuation infrastructure so that there can be dry ports across the SW so that importing and exporting are more efficient There is no reason to stop port development on spurious claims of "congestion" Ethiopia with over 100 million people has no port at all. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

That means they can now abandon Lagos and be going through Bene and Togo to Niger. After the Port, they would have built a railway. Why not Portharcourt or Calabar Port? They will sight Lagos State traffic congestion as a ready excuse. Sinister move. 1 Like |

aribisala0:The more ports Lagos has, the light the traffic because Apapa poor traffic will definitely disappeared as there are ports in lekki and Badagry to be used. They should just have a road linkage with Ipokia, Ogun State from Badagry just as lekki is being linked with Ajah, Epe, Ijebu Ode. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Binancian: It’s a PPP for crying out loud. I’m case you don’t know, PPP stands for public-private-partnership. Investors are putting in counterpart funding for the project and NOT the FG. So, if Obi or any of the SE governors can get investors to fund the project, why won’t the FG approve it? Don’t blame the FG for lack of visionary leaders by state governors at all! 4 Likes |

Way4orward: Nothing stops them from developing. We should be objective. FG is not dropping a kobo to fund these projects but just approving the “concession” pursuant to extant laws. If the Governments of the state you mentioned are serious, they’ll source for counterpart funding and will get a working port for ships to berth in their states. They are just clueless and don’t blame Lagos state for that 1 Like |

ExplorerReturns: This is not a new project. It seems people don't understand the background history of this project. The project has been on ground for over a decade but bureaucracy, logistics and economic situation grounded it. Few months ago the Badagry people got angry against SANWOOLU and threatened to recover their land if nothing happens to the abandoned project. Sanwoolu promised the Badagry people that the project would be revisited and that his government will deliberately push projects to that axis. It is a Private Project. We are not running the American type of Federalism in Nigeria despite being the type of Federalism given to Nigeria at Independence. That is why the approval is coming again. It is an old project. Atiku company and some other investors are involved in that project except this is another project. I am sure, it is the same project. Korean companies (Hyundai, Samsung and others) are also building Ship Repair Yard in that area, in the last 7 years nothing is heard about the progress of works. 2 Likes |

treesun:Who is stopping the Governor of Anambra and Delta State from searching for investors? Have they complain to you Buhari is stopping them from constructing a Port? Buhari gave the go ahead for ports to be built in Warri, Bonny and somewhere in Akwa Ibom more than 2 years ago, only the Lagos State Government was able to get an investor that invested in The Lekki Deep Seaport. If you have the money, talk to your state Governor, show him your proposal, he will take it to Buhari, and Buhari will surely approve it 1 Like |
