Someone should please relieve me by buying my stocks in Guinea Insurance ooo |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 10:33am On Aug 05, 2022 |
Please why is Coronation Insurance still denoted as WAPIC on the NGX Listings table? I think the ticker should be changed to reflect the new name as Coronation Insurance. NGX's words: "Coronation Insurance Plc has not requested for their trading symbol to be changed after the company changed its name." |

Please look closely at the financial books and operations of these 9 firms, and see if they are really showing any signs of growth, or if they are overdue for some sort of mandatory Mergers, so as to save them from total collapse: 1. Coronation Insurance 2. Universal Insurance Company 3. Standard Alliance Insurance 4. Standard Trust Assurance 5. Niger Insurance Company 6. International Energy Insurance 7. Guinea Insurance 8. Goldlink Insurance 9. African Alliance Insurance The Insurance sector really needs a total overhaul. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Toluway: Also to add, that no stock can increase or decrease in price until at least 100,000 units of its shares are traded on a single day. That is why illiquid stocks rarely increase or decrease in price. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

essentialone: For the price to move up or down, someone must buy AND someone must sell at least 100,000 units of that share at a go in a single transaction. Note the word “AND”. Someone may bid to buy over 100,000 units at a time but if that order is fulfilled in more than one transaction e.g. a seller sells 99,000 units and the remaining 1,000 units are supplied by another seller, price won’t move. 5 Likes |

yMcy56:Thank you MCY I am also of the opinion that if they sell the unissued shares either by rights issue or allocation to existing major shareholder and use the funds to reduce debt, it may also impact on their bottom line and consequently the share price.. Please, I don't know if I am right about this. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 2:51pm On Aug 05, 2022 |
essentialone:Lol. You may have to keep Guinea in your "bad debt" acct for now, to be written off OR hopeful that maybe some day, miracle can happen. For IEI, they got buyer for it and will be buying it 100%, what a respite for the shareholders. Buying price not yet out anyway. Hope you didn't have most of those 9 insurance stocks listed in your post ? Aside WAPIC, Universal and Afrinsure, all others are in ICU and needed some intervention to stay alive. As for why WAPIC didn't change to Coronation, WAPIC is also Coronation nah, just change of name......and I think maybe they left WAPIC as the name cos it's become like the trademark or something. Just my opinion. https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/36633_INTERNATIONAL_ENERGY_INSURANCE_PLC%20PRESS_STATEMENT_COR.pdf 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by essentialone(m): 3:53pm On Aug 05, 2022 |
sonofElElyon: Avoid all Insurance companies apart from 1. NEM 2. AIICO 3. MANSARD 4. LASACO 5. CUSTODIAN Avoid all others. They lack liquidity. No matter how much gain they give you, you may never find a buyer whenever you decide to sell it. 1 Like |

onegentleguy: yMcy56: Take out STI (sovereign trust insurance) and GUINEA INSURANCE from your list 'cause both are definitely not in ICU. STI is by far a more worthy pick (valua accretive stance in view) than Afri insurance and Universal insurance put together. Even Guinea insurance is slightly better than those 2. ...this however does not mean that both coys (Afri Ins and Universal) are bad. ...Just rating them on a proper scale. Hear this; STI is even almost at par with WAPIC (coronation Ins) based on present value proposition. Highlighted this a few days ago. (see post above) As I've always said, some select few names in the insurance sector hold huge prospect. ...Some are like "diamond in the dirt", while a select few are like "already made diamond" but which are waiting to be discovered. It is well. 1 Like |

Do not leave during the Bear. If you do not want to invest, learn. If you do not want to learn, build. If you do not want to build, observe. Do anything, other than leaving. There is so much opportunity here. Take advantage before it is too late. 6 Likes 1 Share |

EPS is a good measure of a company’s profitability; it indicates how much money a company makes for each of its shares. Investors should note that they do not have access to the EPS; a portion of it may be distributed as dividend or a portion of it or all can be retained for expansion and growth and comparing EPS in absolute terms may not have much meaning to investors. But it is, when compared to share price, it helps determine the value of earnings and how investors feel about future growth 1 Like 1 Share |
