The problem with this is that you seem to assume that the government cares whether they remain on strike for the next 6 years. You are assuming ASUU is NLC or NUPENG that can halt economic activities when they go on strike and make FG tremble.

As they are on strike, the children of those in government are either outside the country or in private universities. They should continue the strike, when hunger hits them, the division that will end the strike must come.

How will hunger catch them when I tell u that even the graduate assistants that are at the Base of the food chain even have side hustle that pay them; talk more of the Dr's and Profs who have seen so many strikes under different governments and have adapted to surviving the strike periods with no salary?

I have some of them as friends and I know their way. FG just has to reach a compromise with them if FG cares about the students like they ought to.

ASUU should GTFO.

I'm with Keyamo on this. If they can't do the work they should resign. This nonsense where employees can decide to hold their employers to ransom at the detriment of students must stop.
standing with politicians that are cunningly smart will only get u into deeper mess.

i think he mentioned 1.2t ...did he said what it would be use for

He said they have done their part and didnt mention what they did.....even after reaching agreement with the said ASUU.

he said buhari has done very well and BAT will continue from where he stopped but tweak d formation.

can you in all honestly agree with him on buhari's...

If you're not well paid, you resign and let those who are okay with the salary do it. That's the honourable thing to do.

if I were the gorvenment, I'll work on dividing ASUU lecturers and inducing them into factions..

I think some state universities are gradually pulling out of the strike..

It might be obvious that some of them have substitute jobs because it's obvious since their salaries are held, hunger go soon catch them

Obviously they have other jobs cos there's no way someone working on just a job will go 5 months without pay in this harsh economy.

I know lecturers that have farmlands, poultry farms, fish farms and piggery.

In fact a lecturer who happens to be brother to a friend bought two boats at a popular beach in Lagos that takes people on few minutes cruise on the water for tens of thousands per ride. The money he makes a month dwarfs some of his senior colleague's annual salary sef.

Any parent wey dey earn well and has their child still in 100l or 200l should just withdraw them and have them restart from Convenant, Babcock or Bowen. I can assure them the child will finish NYSC before his former coursemates in Federal varsities.

It's obvious this ASUU vs FG matter no dey end soon. With people like Keyamo and Ngige at the negotiation table, it will always end in deadlock and ASUU stubborn pass cow. It's a long ride for those students

it is difficult for me to muster sympathy for ASUU, because most of the lecturers are sadistic bastards in their own right

the other day i met a 100l guy in unilag who talked about how a lecturer was boasting that the highest score in his course is a D

lecturers actively celebrating the failing students because they somehow cannot see that it is really a blight on their reputation as teachers

What is special about ASUU. Are there no lecturers in private universities or you think all of them are well paid.

My wife was due for promotion at work and they didn't promote her. She's now planning her exit and will move the moment a better offer comes.

That's what reasonable people do.

U are just getting unnecessarily emotional about this thing ; maybe cos of the general disdain we all had for some sadist lecturers while we were in school.

But u need to calm down and understand these things. Most lecturers u see working in private varsities did that cos the private varsities are paying well and they have better condition of services. I know lecturers who left for private varsities for this reason while I was in school. The reason why most lecturers staying back in Federal varsities are doing that is cos they will always have that freedom to.do their side hustle while working for government ( which will be very hard while working in private varsities)

Their job is not one u will just bring any Tom, D.ick and Harry to Do.

I actually feel for the students and empathise with them.

But you see ASUU, I despise them.

That was how they went on a 6 months strike when I was in my finals and delayed me in school. Age was not really on my side at the time and you know once you graduate above 26 years in this country, sorry will be your name. If the government had done what they are doing now when I was in school, I would have graduated above 26 years but at least, students will be in school now.

I was once a victim of something similar, just that the lecturer looked me in the eye and told me I won't pass his course over something wey no reach anything. Some of those lecturers need mental evaluation true true

Every APC member whether in power or not will always get dragged for Buhari's failures it's part and parcel of politics. The way you carry yourself and how well you can explain your role in PMB's government or not will determine the level of drags you will get.

Osinbajo yes is part of the government, but did he take all the critical decisions involving security? Even with economy how much of his ideas were implemented? I can only judge PYO based on the assignments he was given and his time as acting president which to me were satisfactory.

As for Tinubu he can't be held responsible for Buhari's performances but he has to chop the cane for installing a "failure" like PMB. The bottom line is if BAT is going to use Buhari's infrastructural successes to campaign then he's going to have to grind his teeth and accept PMB's security and economic failures.

larride:
Those I find interesting are those that says Buhari has failed but say they would've voted for Osibanjo if he was APC candidate.

You say you want to punish Tinubu for Buhari failures but you will Vote Osibanjo the VP of the failed Buhari.

This logic dey always amuse me. cheesy
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Oasis007(m): 10:54am On Aug 06, 2022
A Presidential Candidate left N35B in cash and investments for his Successor, its never a dispute and has been his selling point so far.

However, the part that he never mentions is the fact that he also left N15B in post dated cheques (gbese) that matured after his Successor took over.

He also owed a total sum of $30.324 Millions in external debt..... but perhaps, ko necessary to mention it as well.

throw buhari under the bus without throwing him under the bus
but Buhari is a real character.
from day one - he fked over some people that provided him with serious support during the election.

This is not true at all.

There's nothing in the document that proves Kyari knew the exact nature of the Job Hush was talking about. You have always leaned towards illegalities and vices.

This is exactly why we need Wike. If he had sacked all of them in 2013 and replaced them, we will not be having ASUU strike today.

Bros I'm an APC member. Both Buhari failure and successes belong to the party. Whatever success you attach to Osibanjo in whatever he does, he will equally share in the failures also. It's a joint ticket for a reason.

Tinubu will campaign with the infrastructural development of Buhari and try to hedge against his failures. In one of his press briefings after meeting Buhari, he said "we are progressive, we don't run away from challenges, President Buhari has done his best, we still have challenges to overcome, we have highlighted those challenges and we will face them headlong".

It is expected that opposition will use failures of Buhari against Tinubu.

Ask around, a lot of private universities owe salaries. Have you ever seen them go on strike?

Again, no one is indispensable. Everyone can be replaced and that includes ASUU

The annoying part is the State Universities that joined the strike. If not that we have incompetent Governors, most of those State Uni lecturers that joined the strike should've been sacked.

You are employed by the state govt, paid by the state govt but you are joining federal govt workers to strike.

Rubbish.

The bold is exactly my point every member regardless of your position in the APC will have to bear the consequences of Buhari's performance.

This life is funny sha. I remember how late senator John McCain and George Bush Jr were rivals for the Republican presidential nomination. Later McCain was still painted with the failures of the Bush presidency when he contested against Obama despite the fact that he might not have support any of George Ws policies.
