...Berates APC, says party is dead horse, written off

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has opened up on the presidential candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

A member of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the ACF, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu said that 2023 would be the ideal time for the Forum to pay back Atiku for his philanthropism by ensuring that ACF stands the test of time.

In an exclusive interview with Sunday Sun, Alhaji Yakubu who is the former aide to ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki said that of all the presidential candidates, Atiku is more prepared and experienced to lead the country.

The ACF chieftain who was also the youth wing leader of the defunct Northern Union (NU) led by the late Dr Olusola Saraki spoke on Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC), describing the party as a dead horse, not worthy to waste energy on it. Excerpts:

Soon after the PDP presidential primary election where Atiku Abubakar emerged the winner, the runner up of that election, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State was aggrieved; one, that he was betrayed by his friend, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; two, that he was not picked as the running mate to Atiku. How would you describe that election and its fallout?

My name is Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, a chieftain of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), a NEC member of the ACF. Now, to answer your question, that election was one of the most organised, most credible and most transparent primary elections that was organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Whatever might be the backlash of the result of that primary election, I think the presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is managing the challenges properly. There is no way such a big party, such bigwigs like Atiku Abubakar, Governor Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal and the rest could have contested such an election, and there would not be some challenges. There is no denying the fact that there were some backlashes after the election. But what matters most was the effective management of those backlashes, and it is being properly done by the candidate. I am happy so far the way he is conducting himself, the way he has been trying to manage those backlashes. One thing that I can assure you is that PDP will come out extremely stronger from those challenges. These challenges are not new to PDP because PDP is used to crisis and crisis management. I want to strongly appeal to Governor Wike that he should not allow people to instigate him against his elder brother; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar because on so many occasions I have listened to him where he referred to Atiku as his elder brother. They have respect for each other. I don’t want third party to come between them and cause this avoidable crisis between them. But so far so good, the relationship is being managed properly, and it is going to be managed properly. I want to leave it at that.

Even after the primary election the expectation among concerned Nigerians was that Atiku was going to pick Wike as his running mate. But it did not happen that way. How will you react to this?

Yes, all of them that I have mentioned are extremely qualified to lead Nigeria, but in all of them you can only have one president and one vice president. And like I earlier said, I don’t want us to over flog this issue because over flogging it is what has been causing this unnecessary tension. It is being managed now, it is being properly taken care of, so I don’t want us to over flog the issue. The two gentlemen are respectable Nigerians who know their onions and there is no doubt that Governor Wike has contributed immensely to the building and development of the party; and Atiku respects this, the crisis will be sorted out.

The Northern Youths would decide who they would vote for, not Arewa Consultative Forum or Northern Elders Forum.

The access to social media in the far North has really gained ground contrary to PDP Presidential aspirant

The northerners are so so predictable! I really pity Tinubu and Obi because they will share the votes in the South. The rest of the North will go with Atiku because islamisation is a northern agenda and they will only vote for someone who will work towards it undecided

The sign on the wall is getting clearer by the day.
Devilish Muslim-muslim has destroyed Tinubu's little chance in the SW,SS,SE, North central. Now, the core North is already projecting their son for President over a minority Kanuri VP.
Tinubu should wait for the political embarrassment of his life. Na only 7 Governors remain with am but by December, na only Sanwolu go remain

You don't really know what's going on in the North. The middle belt region will never again be fooled by the Hausa/Fulani political gimmicks. Infact, they've come to realize that the core North always need the middle belt & the ethnic minorities during election & discard them afterwards.

I'm actually not a Yoruba but I've lived in Yoruba land, Lagos precisely for long

Any Yoruba, Hausa or fulani man and woman campaigning for Obi should have a rethink and retrace their step back. Though this isn't supposed to be so but you see those IGBOS have turned this election to tribalistic one. They have even turn it to religious one

I will support and vote for Tinubu. He has more achievements, antecedents and legacies to point at as a governor and when he left government than EVERY other contestants

Tinubu is very much accommodating and tolerance than other contestants. IGBOS are taking political position in Lagos. IGBOS are civil servants in Lagos and other South western states. IGBOS are doing businesses freely in Lagos and other south western region

Please go to any eastern state to see if you'd see any Yoruba or Hausa man as ordinary councillor. It is a TABOO to the Igbo

To them their igbo president in form of Obi is the best after bread and butter while others are nothing to write home about. Support Tinubu or Atiku and watch them curse, bash or threaten you. They accused you of being paid for supporting Tinubu or Atiku while them are doing it freely. They always insult the Fulani and Hausas and call them all sorts of names. They even call them cow, almajiri etc. They insult the Yorubas calling them fulani slaves. They condemned Nigeria as a country. Claiming Nigeria is a ZOO

ACHIEVEMENT- I WILL VOTE TINUBU
TOLERANCE & ACCOMMODATING- I WILL VOTE TINUBU

For the northerners who reside in the north you can ask any of your family or friends living in Lagos and other South western states they will tell you how Yoruba are so friendly, loving and accommodating. Go to the state headquarter at Alausa ikeja you'll see igbos holding top position without any discrimination

Go to east and see how all positions are occupied completely by all igbos.

An average IGBOS are resentful, spiteful, hateful, bittered et al. They literally see themselves better, superior and more sophisticated than other tribes.

PLEASE verify this my claim if you aren't aware of it and make a decision on who to campaign and vote for

I leave you to your conscience

If you are a TRUE NIGERIAN, you will understand that what ever you feel the IGBOS are guilty of, THE WESTERNERS AND NORTHERNERS have done A MILLION TIMES THEIR WORST. . . . without noise for over 100 years. IGBOS only have their voices to cry out.

You reap what you sow!

The delusion in the Tinubu camp that because he picked a Muslim as his VP he will automatically get their votes is going to be punctured.
Atiku is a northerner and has over the years has built bridges that cuts across religious and ethnic lines. No matter how you Atiku you'll never acuse him of being against against any religious or ethnic group.

With the way APC and PDP destroyed Nigeria, I think they may be banking on rigging or violence to win 2023 election. Because no reasonable person will vote any of the two
