We are back to 7th though. Scotland just took over, they won 3 golds today to equal our gold records but more on overall medals.

It was not overall that placed them above us, it was the silver count.

We naturally have a problem with anything above 200m...... Our blood too dey hot

I think we have the natural talent but it requires strategy. To be the best, you require coaching to guide with energy usage, diet and psychology... That requires dedication and patience.. I saw flavour ofili run the 400 metres relay final and took gold in the under 20 championship in Kenya last year.. They are many people who are capable but it takes a torn on your body as you grow older and begin to pick up injuries... So the right health system and physio therapy matters..
It all comes down to funding....
Bostwana has a dedicated sport and youth development centred on medium distance running since they discovered Nigel Amos and moestho... They are the best in 200, 400, and 800 metres... Senegal too has a youth and medium distance running centre..
Nigeria just need to concentrate and specialise on one thing..
Delta state seems to have focused on sprints with the discovery of blessing okaghbare and Ese... . .
Bayesa.. With igali in. Wrestling..
Edo.. Althetes...
Other state in negeria need to specialise in certain activities..

We aren't very good at the 400m ...in fact, any race above 200m hasn't been our forte... It's a course for concern

We need to fund those guys in 400 metres and above... . They need the right coaching, diet, and pysiotherapy when injured and some form of compensation or remuneration when injured...
Anything over 150 metres places pressure on the body and wear and tear happens with age...

Forgot government patronage, the private sector or a percentage dedicated to sporting activities is the only well to guarantee consistent performance..

This is the aspect I am keen on. Until recently, we are more or less a football-centric country. The x400 days of Falilat Ogunkoya, Christy Opara-Thompson & co aren't there anymore.

The last few years with the Amusans, Brumes, Ofilis and co, there is sort of a shift, especially with the way our football teams have been almost unimpressive. I don't think we have had this focus on Athletics since the Onyali/Alozie/Tombiri days. Maybe these ones will inspire something new.

Amusan herself was a sprinter when she started and was been trained in the heptathlon like Itanyi .. Athletics is coming back hopefully!

She ran the heats abi she will surely get a share of the money.
I believe they'll show underitanding. After they should have a leader in the team that would give advise to them

Doesn't get traction here. The one I opened on the African Championships had no traction.
