lolathegenie: When you say you couldn't meet up with your travel date you might need to be more specific, do you mean your permit is expired and you never got to use it or you couldn't meet up with your flight departure plans but still have a valid permit? Congrats to your mum for her permit approval. Now to your question, are you applying for another permit while your previous permit is still valid? You stated that you were approved last year so you might need to reconfirm if you have two different permits pending for approval so you can be advised further. 1 Like |

Hello @scottish How do you fill your declaration form online "your landing gist" |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by dbeautyful: 11:22pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
Good evening While expecting a positive response from IRCC soonest, I read through the landing gists... I noticed only 2 posts with flight itineraries of more than 1 connecting flight. Considering that flights with more stops are cheaper, I'd expect that it's the other way round. Please help with a kind response to any of my questions below. 1. Besides the convenience that 1-stop flights provide, is there any other reason more people chose this? 2. Besides USA, are there any other countries to avoid that require transit visas? 3. Could you kindly confirm that YVR is the correct destination airport in Vancouver. 4. There's an option for purchase of refundable tickets. Has anyone had an experience using this for refund or swap? Thank you.

dbeautyful:For me, I’ll usually buy one stop or non-stop to Noth America because multiple stops elongate the journey that is already long and tiring on its own(a personal preference). The USA requires a transit visa if you don't have a valid USA visa(they're not nice) & Schengen countries too but if you have the USA or Canadian visa you’ll not require a transit visa via Schengen countries(Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt to mention a few) but the USA stays the same, if you’re transiting via the Uk you will not require a transit visa. Yes YVR is the airport code for Vancouver If your travel plans are solid then you may not need to spend extra booking a flexible ticket, but if you think you may have to change the ticket before the travel then please buy a flexible ticket because it costs a fortune changing a non-flexible ticket. If you want a fully refundable ticket it’s costlier but safer if your travel plans aren’t solid but it’s just extra money you can save towards settling down at your destination if you have your plans intact. I hope I have been able to answer a few of your questions, others can chip in. 6 Likes |

Thank you for your response. To be honest, I just wasn’t sure because the date given on the counter foil was 8th of September 2021, which has expired now. I don’t know if the permit is valid since I was never able to get it. johnstan: |

It means you are on the wait list. Some schools have courses that attract alot of applicants, hence, they create this waitlist. It can be very long that many applicants don't get in for many academic sessions. Is it possible you apply to another institution to avoid the long wait period. Although, it is impossible to get in during the next academic year. Wish you all the best. TiggyAce: |

This observation might be irrelevant but, I think this italics writing mode is used by @Gigdraft N.B: @Gigdraft thank you for all your advice and help on the platform. My concern is that this font style is suddenly used by @Nezzel and some others. @Nezzel, I understand you are trying to help, but someone just called you out, please take some minutes before dishing out advice, you are passing the wrong vibe about your intention even though you might be genuine. It feels like impersonation to me, I might be wrong though, please I apologize, but for those just joining the platform like 5 mins ago, and already dishing out application advice, abeg take it easy. I apologize, but I feel something is off about such actions. Thanks 5 Likes |

Guys is it advisable to go for police clearance or not. I completed application form but on the document upload section their is no section requesting for police clearance, it went straight to payment for biometrics and visa. Is it that they will ask for it later I want to be sure before dashing those police free money. I use the IRCC new portal |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Gores: 6:49am On Aug 08, 2022 |
Qyt1: Also need an answer I want to submit mine tommorrow haven’t done police clearance yet. You mean their is no section to upload it anymore. I want to use the new portal too |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Aboki1859(m): 6:49am On Aug 08, 2022 |
There is no section requesting for police clanrance. However, You will attach it with your supporting documents. It will be used in checking your background. Qyt1: 2 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Ketima: 7:15am On Aug 08, 2022 |
Qyt1: Hello, As always adviced, police clearance certificate is never needed unless requested by IRCC which is rarely done, though some person's have at one time were asked to submit it under ADR. Truth be told, submitting one doesn't give any edge over who didn't submit. Even IRCC don't rate our police clearance certificate. So, if you feel like doing it, fine you're free. There is no harm is attaching it to your application. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Opp1o: Hello, SOP and other docs are under supporting documents. So merge them accordingly and upload as single file under supporting document 1 Like |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Kanekade: 7:24am On Aug 08, 2022 |
Qyt1:Hello Qyt1, There’s no particular section to upload police certificate. If you have your police certificate you can merge it with your client information or supporting documents. And with this new hike in the price of obtaining one it is important to know that people have gotten approvals without it so it’s left to you to decide if you want to include it or not. Good luck 1 Like 1 Share |
