Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by KiNg0G: 9:01am On Aug 07, 2022 |
A pastor neighbor told me, that when you speak in tongues the devil can't hear what you have to say to God? like asking for wealth, prosperity, long life and the rest of good things in life....I find it difficult to believe. because I tried it one time during my early church going days, even me can't understand what I was saying talkless who i was talking to. no one told me before I switched back to Pidgin which felt better. |

According to the book of Acts, speaking in tongues was actually the language of another race or tribe . Not the incomprehensible gibberish you here in today's churches . 2 Likes |

Speaking in tongues means speaking in languages – languages of real people. Read Acts 2: 1-11. It's as simple as that. Nobody does that today. I've not seen an Ibo pastor speaking Fulfude once he comes across Fulanis, or an Hausa Pastor speaking Yoruba once he comes across Yorubas. 1 Like |

It's up to the Spirit of God to decide that, except it's not Him that gives the utterance of the tongues as most of those which are spoken in the churches today. So don't worry about who understands or does not understands it, just ensure that the tongues you speak was given by the Spirit of God and you'd be good, because the Spirit of God always knows what He's doing, and it's always to good effect as it was on the day of Pentecost. God bless. 1 Like |

Jashub: So how do u know the gibberish is not one of the language out there...?? Have u heard all the language in the world...?? I heard one strange language from a documentary of a remote village in sri-lanka...bros it sounded juat like nonsense..total bull shîť...complete gibberish....dont get me wrong ...i know people can say crap....but just bcoa u don't hear what they are dying doesnt mean it crap.. Paul addressed this issue in 1cor14...that it's possible for the congregation not to understand the tongues the speaker is speakimng with when he was teaching on orderly service.... He the ended by saying there is no poimt speaking in tongues to the whole church if there is no one to interprete the language In verse 39...he however said speaking in tongues should not be discouraged but should be done orderly.....so the speaker should speak between him and God alone if theres no one to interprete... 1 Like |

Jashub:That you call incomprehensible gibberish is actually a language somewhere most times. You don't know all the languages. There was q case in a Nigerian church where the leader spoke in tongues and it turned out to be fluent Romanian language. I want to believe language has to do with spirituality because God had a hand in introduction of languages after the tower of Babel. That leaves open the door for princes over territories to intercept messages in Languages. 1 Like |

KiNg0G:Just an fYI . If you recorded yourself speaking in tongues and if your find yourself repeating the same syllables and sounds each time please realize immediately that what you speak is not of God.. Devil understands human language, right? This means your pastor is grossly ignorant where it concerns the things he speaks of. |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Kobojunkie: 10:33am On Aug 07, 2022 |
RepoMan007:All these supposed cases, did you witness any of them yourself or did one of your pastors and mogs feed you the tale to assuage fears you have about the incoherent sounds that keep coming from their mouths? I have yet to hear any one of you churchians speak in a human tongue. What is typical of churchians is instead speaking in gibberish which the world is quite aware of, not a human language of any kind - known or unknown. |

Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Jashub: 5:27pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
RepoMan007:Tongues are meant to be interpretated hope you know ? " But if there is no one to interpret, let them be silent in church and speak to themselves and to God (1 Corinthians 14:28 NRSV)" So where are those interpreting ...and which language is that that they speak that has no interpretation? |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by RepoMan007: 5:50pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
Jashub:translation is needed when the tongue is for edification or meant to teach. Do you explain prayer to congregation? |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Jashub: 5:52pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
RepoMan007:Oga, the bible tells you tongues are to be interpreted . So why aren't those gibberish translated if indeed they're tongues . ...? |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by RepoMan007: 5:56pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
Jashub:teaching in tongue is different from praying in it. Jerusalem was a metropolis with many ethnic group represented, this the need for translation of teaching done in tongues. |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Jashub: 8:03pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
RepoMan007:You are lying . The bible expressly say "tongues should be interpreted " because it is used for edification of the church . He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said (1 Corinthians 12:10 NLT). If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret (1 Corinthians 14:27 ESV). You can see how Paul emphasized on interpretation...so all those gibberish you guys are chanting is way out of biblical doctrine |

Jashub:in book of Acts of the Apostles in the upper room where 120 burst into tongues, who interpreted all the various tongues simultaneously? Use your brain. |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Jashub: 8:23pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
RepoMan007:Shut up . The audience who heard them speak in tongues could clearly identify what they were saying since they spoke in their own language Acts2: 4-8 has said it all: All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit(A) and began to speak in other tongues[a](B) as the Spirit enabled them. 5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing(C) Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. 7 Utterly amazed,(D) they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?(E) 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by RepoMan007: 8:29pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
Jashub: You mean the audience could identify all the tongues the 120 were speaking individually or they were all saying the same thing in different tongues? I am laughing. |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Jashub: 8:44pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
RepoMan007:Lol...i dey laugh your lies. The 120 where from different nationalities and they heard the apostles speak in their own language(even though they were of Jewish descent and had never been outside of the Israel) Read acts 2:4-8 again... |

KiNg0G: So, if you pray to God and the devil understands your prayer he will not allow God to answer you? I still don't get the spiritual logic of this "reason" given by people on speaking in tongues. Are you praying to the devil or to God? |

HedwigesMaduro: Somedy said you should ask Daniel |
Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Nobody: 7:04am On Aug 08, 2022 |
advanceDNA: So, what's Daniel got to do with it? Do you know the difference between pre-Christ dispensation and post-Christ dispensation? Should I also ask Daniel if we should face Jerusalem when praying? Smh. Jabesh probably prayed in tongues. The devil couldn't understand him. That was probably why God answered him speedily. The New Testament gave reasons why prayers are not answered. Maybe you point to where "the devil understanding your prayer" was given as a reason for prayers not being answered. Once again, smh. 1 Like |

Re: Is This True About Speaking In Tongues? by Nobody: 7:37am On Aug 08, 2022 |
advanceDNA: I usually go ballistic when people insinuate the devil has any sort of power over God (as you, or whoever you said asked you to ask me insinuated). If such doesn't bother you then it's either you're not a Christian, or you've got a problem. 1 Like |

KiNg0G: Speaking in tongues is necessary back in the first century because it's a fulfilment of Bible prophecy regarding what will happen in future and it's happening today! God promised Abraham that through his lineage all the families of the earth will be blessed {Genesis 12:1-3} God revealed a lot about how life began and what led to suffering, sickness and death in Hebrew language. Satan wants to rule the world so he introduced politics (empowering one man to rule over others the way Satan wants) and this has been for long. When Satan first introduced this system he wanted to cage mankind in just one geographical location so God confused the language of mankind in order for them to scatter throughout the earth {Genesis 11:1-9} because that's the purpose for which God created us {Genesis 1:26-28} and if Satan should succeed in his attempt the rest of the earth will remain uninhibited. Isaiah 55:8-11 So the confusion in language was from God, to prove that He is the Almighty God promised that a time is coming when all faithful people throughout the earth will SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE {Zephaniah 3:9} Satan and his demons were expecting another supernatural occurrence like what happened at babel when God caused people to speak different tongues but the true God is the wisest He didn't do that rather He used his Holy Spirit to empower 120 Jews at Pentecost to speak different languages heard and understood by all the visitors in Jerusalem! Act 2:1-11 What is the meaning of this prophetic event? God foretold through Isaiah and Micah that people from all races will come together and worship Him, they will use what is written in the Bible to resolve all their racial disparities, they will divert all their resources into the production of food and information materials, they will format the making, buying, selling and usage of weapons in their hearts, politics (Satan's greatest weapon) will be rendered harmless in the gathering of faithful people so military services will no longer be required! Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3 Of course this can't be possible if there is no agreement among all those involved that's why Jesus came to establish a movement that will bring people from all races under one umbrella that they may have the same line of thought {John 17:20-23} all other religions will be under Satan's control {2Corinthians 4:4; 1John 5:19} they will continue in politics killing one another {Revelations 6:3-4} but as for Jesus' true disciples it will be as if they're speaking the same language throughout the earth because LOVE, JOY and PEACE will permeate their gathering! John 13:34-35; 14:26-27 After the event at pentecost Satan could see that Jesus' mission is surely going to be a huge success so to stop it Satan began attacking the movement {Revelations 12:17} all the apostles were killed except John whom Jesus promised that will be given some Revelations! John 21:20-23 CHRISTIANITY was disrupted after the death of all the first century Jewish disciples of Christ and Satan initiated the Antichrist {Matthew 13:25} this is what most people know today as Christianity but it's the AntiChrist movement. Jesus returned in the year 1914 and called out all faithful people throughout the earth {Revelations 18:4} they are now speaking in one voice globally as they're fulfilling what God promised through Isaiah 2:2-4 and Micah 4:1-3 Satan tried to make something similar by introducing another religion to make all his own worshipers also speak the same language but instead of LOVE, JOY and PEACE to work in their midst they are fighting and killing people because politics can't work with love. That is what people know today as "ISLAM" Satan wants to use this religion to replace what Jesus established so he is forcing it on people unlike Christianity that was preached peacefully Satan's agents go from place to place forcing their beliefs and LANGUAGE on innocent people! 1 Like |
