pocohantas: I had fiverr and upwork account it never saw the light of d day, after I paid someone for a verified account, I've always been fascinated by the idea of remote work, tbh maybe I didn't look more into it, I was disappointed that over few months I never got an gig even if it paid $1 I would av been happy I'm working anyways, money wasn't really my priority then, but I was going to fight in a war zone with a bread knife PS i don't know why d likes, "I was going to fight in a war zone with a bread knife" doesn't connote to being successful it is d direct opposite, pls don't misunderstand me, I meant that I was going to a war zone (Fiverr with many skilled workers , people with years of experience) with a bread knife(Unskilled, naive, worker, no experience whatsoever in any niche or gig, except maybe copywriting or freelance) But @Pocohantas I'm quite fluent at freelance now after working with inourmindshow based in london as a writer 8 Likes |

Nice one Poco, and very detailed too. Would have loved to make some earnings from this but sadly, I'm currently running a doctorate program and that takes virtually all my time. 13 Likes |

Quite inspiring read, thanks for posting. I'll be adding this to my read list, I still have to go through it again. On applying for upwork gigs, I think qtguru has tried his best to educate us here about the numbers of available opportunities there, for that reason I've created an account on upwork. Many people are scared. I know people that would open the app and be so afraid to send proposals. I went through that stage too.Me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get over it once I'm confident with my skills. Thanks for sharing your story. 11 Likes 1 Share |
