His immediate successor, the man he personally handpicked as his replacement is best known for being a drunkard husband of a ghetto ref hot craze woman.

That is all you need to know about Peter obi s management style

Maybe he wanted a successor who would not steal his shine so they could say he is the best Anambra ever had

Soyinkas response to the Pyrates video. Maybe dem go begin curse Soyinka too

“The display acidly targets a presidential candidate in the awaited 2023 elections. Since the whole world knows of my connection with that fraternity, it is essential that I state in clear, unambiguous terms, that I am not involved in that public performance, nor in any way associated with the sentiments expressed in the songs. Like any other civic group, the Pyrates Confraternity is entitled to its freedom of expression, individually or collectively.

“So also is Wole Soyinka in his own person. I do not interfere in, nor do I attempt to dictate the partisan political choices of the Confraternity. I remain unaware that the association ever engages in a collective statement of sponsorship or repudiation of any candidate. This is clearly a new and bizarre development, fraught with unpredictable consequences.

“In addition, let me make the following cultural affirmation. I have listened to the lyrics of the chant intently and I am frankly appalled. I find it distasteful. I belong to a culture where we do not mock physical afflictions or disabilities. Very much the contrary. The Yoruba religion indeed designate a deity, Obatala, as the divine protector of the afflicted, no matter the nature of such affliction. This sensibility is engrained in us from childhood and remains with us all our lives. It operates on the principle of mortal frailty to which all humanity remains vulnerable.

I'm not sure how this is a plus to Tinubu. It's not everybody that will want to remain in a patronage-based system perpetually. Some persons prefer to move on to the private sector after a stint in public service.

It shows the quality of talents he unearthed and used. After years under his tutelage, they went ahead to do bigger things

Unlike Obi, he got the backing of Ojukwu to become governor under APGA after 8yrs dumped APGA to PDP where he was picked as the VP, After another 7yrs he dumped PDP for Labor

If Labor doesnt work maybe we will see him in APC or Accord

I don't think you are wrong. It was in 2017 when Obi was already in PDP that he supported Oseloka Obaze as PDP candidate against Obiano and they lost

In 2013 Obiano given his Fidelity Bank connection with Obi got the APGA ticket

That is my recollection of events

Forget all this one. Most people who are members of Pyrates always claim its social club, they are not cults blah blah....But in reality these people will not hesitate to use force, arms and ammunitions when push comes to shove(Which is actually why people dread cult groups)

I remember an incident that happened back then in an area I used to stay, the bros na PC while he was in Yabatech and one thing led to the other, they found human skull in his parent's house few years after graduation.

Maybe Wole Soyinka had other plans when he formed the group, but trust me those guys are no longer who they claim to be now.

I think we can all agree that unless there is a godfather, the governor picks his successor. And in 2013, Peter obi as governor of Anambra, was effectively the shot caller in APGA

Bigger things like being more successful politicians. Like I said, it's not everyone that will want to remain in a patronage system...Tinubu is a career politician, he lives and breathes politics, so you cannot compare him to a Peter Obi in that regard. Every move Tinubu is making is designed at keeping him relevant in his chosen career.

He is simply a lesser one. Both he and Tinubu entered from the private sector. A man who ran as VP in 2019,and is now running for president does not live and breathe politics?

He is simply a less committed politico. Your experts in anything put twice the hours the amateurs put in
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 3:02pm On Aug 08, 2022
No, Peter Obi is not a career politician in the mold of Tinubu. Tinubu did not enter as governor from the private sector, he's been involved in politics since the early 1990's. Before Peter Obi contested for Anambra governorship in 2003, he had zero involvement in politics as we know it. Tinubu's career as a politician is senior to Peter Obi's own by at least 11 years, just the way Atiku's career as a politician is senior to Tinubu's own. No be everything dem dey use push agenda, this one is obvious enough cheesy

Peter Obi has been in politics before his 40th birthday. He was 2 time governor, a VP candidate and Now presidential candidate and he is not a career politician?

Tinubu joined politics from Exxon Mobil to contest for Senate in the early 90s. Is Mobil not a private sector? Tinubu joined politics around the same age Obi joined politics late 30s to early 40s

Obi is as much a career politician as Tinubu thought less successful at it

Ronaldo has spent 20yrs in football, while Sterling has spent 10yrs in football. So are we going to say Sterling is not a footballer?

I agree with this. If Tinubu did not do politics the way he did, he likely would not have been as successful as he became in life. Peter Obi was a very successful businessman before venturing into politics.

If Peter Obi come 2023 defeats Tinubu, it would mean that in less time and with less commitment, he bested Tinubu, the older, more experienced and more involved politician. Remember, before 40, one was a successful businessman worth billions and the other before 40 was at best middle management as an employee in the private sector.

First termPeter Obi contested in the Anambra State Governorship Election as a candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party in 2003, but his opponent, Chris Ngige of the People's Democratic Party, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).[39]
.[44]

Tinubu spent his early life in southwestern Nigeria and later moved to United States where he studied Accounting at Chicago State University. He returned to Nigeria in the early 1980s and was employed by Mobil Nigeria as an accountant, before entering politics as a Lagos West senatorial candidate in 1992 under the banner of the Social Democratic Party. After dictator Sani Abacha dissolved the Senate in 1993, Tinubu became an activist campaigning for the return of democracy as a part of the National Democratic Coalition movement. Although he was forced into exile in 1994, Tinubu returned after Abacha's 1998 death triggered the beginning of the transition to the Fourth Republic.[5]

peter obi is 60 this year. therefore he started CONTESTING at the age of 41
tinubu is 70 this year. therefore he started at the age of 39

10 years ago, in 2012, Tinubu was 60. at this point he had already turned ACN into a regional party

at 60, all Peter Obi has done in politics is sell out to a biiger party, rather than follow the lessons and turn APGA to a regional party.

you are comparing a treasurer in mobil - an INERNATIONAL company - to chairman of a LOCAL bank that is yet to extend beyond Nigeria? a Nigerian run bank where we know exactly how it goes - your ascent is more about your ability to kiss arse than your actual ability?

willie obaino was an oga in the same fidelity bank. i guess that should give you a real idea about the calibre of people there. i have to wonder how the man even got a job with a third in philosophy , as we know how particular Nigerians are about 2.1

Channels Television
Updated September 26, 2017

The Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Anambra Dan Ulasi has said that the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi did not make the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano.

He made this known while speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he alleged that Obi didn’t have any other choice but to endorse the candidature of Obiano.

He said, “Four years ago, we brought out a young man who is now the governor of Anambra state. I don’t want to say how that young man, who is now governor of Anambra state came out.

“It wasn’t Peter who brought him out, it was Victor Umeh who brought him out. Peter had no alternative because he wanted an Obaze”.

The former PDP chief wondered why the former governor who paraded Governor Obiano four years back as the best candidate for the job, would now have a rethink.

Maybe you can explain to us how a chairman of a rival party has so much information

and the last bolded sentenec contradicts everything said before. it implies peter obi had issues with obiano after 2013
