Hello all. This thread has been really useful to me. I need help please

I skipped my middle name while filling in the data for my passport application online. I'm going the DIY route. My capture date is September 12th.
I tried tracking my application and it's saying "error mismatch between data and NIN. Report to office for correction" (not exact words but close).
I didn't fill in my middle name while applying for the passport, but my NIN shows my middle name. I felt it was not important when filling in the form as it was marked as "optional".

As every other detail matches with my NIN except this, will i be okay?

Please is this a problem? If yes, how do i sort it out? Do i need to go to the office before the capture date? And does this affect the date? Since i am going the DIY route i wouldn't want anything to mess me up on the day of my capture.

I also tried tracking my child's application & it's bringing up an error saying the reference number and application ID cannot be found. But when i tried inputting it to know if i could edit , her details came up, letting me know it was already submitted so could not be edited. Do i have anything to worry about concerning hers? We are both meant to capture on the 12th of September.

I'd really appreciate a response to help me out. Thank you

From my experience, once there is any form of difference in between the data in your NIN and that of your passport application, it will definitely poss an error at some point after your biometric capturing, which might delay your passport production.

However I will advise you go to the servicom department located at your choice of passport center before your capturing date to make your complain. I believe since you're yet to be captured, something can still be done. Otherwise you have to do a correction of Data which might cost you an extra fee

PH officers are cultist. They charge you 5k before your file will leave servicom. I wonder when citizens turn to FG to they give them impress Na so them stress me for two days calling me Mr. Due process. Finally captured yesterday though. What an experience as a DIY advocate.

For renewal you don't need a guarantor's form. Once you're able to gather the documents listed on the appointment letter, I believe to an extent you're good to go. However try to be there as early as possible to be able to open up a file. Good luck

The guarantor form is compulsory for fresh applications. Write any amount you like in the space provided.

Please, is there anyone with a genuine link in festac office? My sister wants to fast track her passport. She captured on the 22nd of June, collection date was on the 27th but it was no show. She needs to get it asap.

Finally got to capture at Alausa. Only thing that can delay you is your NIN, every other things like NPC birth certificate and Age declaration can be gotten there, even the NIN name rectification you can do it at the garage close to the office. No single extra cost to the Passport office just a few delay and queue here and there. I was given a date for collection on September, let's see how it goes. Thanks to everyone here for your advices, would be back September.

You can get it in less than 2 weeks. However at a fee. Picked up my passport last week.
Paid a total of 135k
45k to start the process (Didnt do DIY).
70k to change the biometrics date from 2 months to 2 days.
20k to fast track collection to 2 days.
Just like you, i was desperate. If not, i would have waited.
Did it at alausa. However i heard someone say one can get it in 3 days at abeokuta for about 60k or so

This DIY thing is just time and patience sha. If you're sure you won't need the passport for the next 3 months you can go through the process. I won't need it till next year so there's no point paying huge or fast tracking.

you are right, I advise any to start even before the expiration of the old passport,that is if he travels.

Well they gave a date for collection, Let's see how it goes. If there's any need for fast tracking i will but for now let the passport be chilling with them.

Pls I did my passport capturing since February 15, and waited until June to check my passport they told me it’s not yet ready I was surprise because, I didn’t use an agent it was DIY, so I logged into the Nigeria immigration website to check my passport office it was still in application receive, I felt really devastated and angry, so I wanted till July I went to their office and went to the service on to complain, I was told that they don’t know what the issue was but I was advices to resubmit all my documents I did that.


I wasn’t satisfied with what they said, so what i did was I created a tread on twitter and tag the Nigeria immigration service page, and by Gods grace they responded to me, and I was told they will get back to me, that was about two weeks ago, today I retrack the passport and it’s showing production does that mean it’s out? Tho I’ve not gotten a text and the place I did mine was Festac

I DIY to the point of my capturing date July 19th, I got there and the lady I met said I should come back on the 15 of August for my documents processing and all, I called an Officer who introduced me to someone, I later paid her 10k and was able to capture same day, Left around 2pm.
