Means you have been overstressing the generator, you shouldn't bother using it with the AC, actual power is not up to what is written on the generator. A 3.5kva generator should power even a 1.5HP inverter AC without stress.

It actually powers it now… I said I’ll update you yesterday but I forgot… I didn’t even have to increase the speed again… the generator powers it with my refrigerator and tv together without any stress… thanks for the tips boss��

That Tec Optima major 3.5kva na small but mighty generator, I search for the whole Thermocool shop but it was out of stock, but I was lucky to see one on jiji, the owner was just broke and wanted to sell....

The only issue was the kick starter (Changed it for 5k and bought new battery).... I bought it for 120k and the gen was still looking brand new .... And the generator is very sexy

It carries my washing machine (Though it's an Inverter washing machine) and my 200 L chest freezer comfortably with TV

You can even remove the tire without need for spanner and it's not heavy

The gen sexy come rugged on top I swear down! I've changed my battery and kick starter too.

My original tigmax 2.2kva generator stopped working, the engineer said we need to change the coil...he brought a bill of 40k which to me seems suspicious..so i asked how much for him to buy it, he said only the engine can be sold.. @gptech and co.. pls whats my upside here, cos its the first generation honda gen with all its original parts, funniest part is the engineer is the only one who has worked on it doing simple stuffs like servicing or changing avr before it just stopped working..

First thing ...ask your engineer to tell you the particular coil that has damaged..

The coil system in a generator has different parts ..we have big and small coil...

The coil doesn't go bad easily and you have to be knowledgeable enough if not they will scam you..

Maybe, your own case is the AVR..


But let's assume that all your coil system are bad...then a brand new copper coil in the market is around 25k...I bought it 15k early last year...so maybe it will be 25k now..


The best thing is to ask another engineer to verify whether is the coil and which particular coil..

Don't sell your engine for anything especially that original type of your generator..we have half engines and new coils now in the market to keep your engine working

Also looking at your pics... although it has the red coated color and designs that was associated with the Original Elemax then powered by Honda(which was the best then and is no longer in the market)

He said its both the coils thats damaged,which is the avr coil and the other coil.. and capacitor and you are right my guts teling me not all is bad..cos he brought a buyer and the buyer is insisting on buying the coil, a coil they saying is burnt.. i will take your advice and use another engineer for alternative advice..but i will appreciate any more advice.. thanks
