Imagine a midfield trio of ndidi(dm) alhassan(b2b) and iwobi AM It will be fire. Ndidi to shield the bck four, alhassan closing down opposition’s midfielders and iwobi to roam around as the link between the midfield and attach Then flanked by simon from the left, lookman/samu from the right then osimhen as point man Kill them all! 2 Likes

charlesemeka85: Ndidi-Alhassan-Iwobi midfield trio? Beautiful Midfield Combo Option!! Charles is learning. I threw up same midfield trio as part of options of trios our midfield can have while keeping steel and deeplying control/creativity (during my discussion with my lads on twitter). One tactical tweak question though... Now let's say Ndidi injures or just isn't available. Who takes that role? While keeping Alhassan and Iwobi where they are. 1 Like 1 Share

Alhassan Yusuf has been playing at a high level for weeks: "The relationship in midfield is fine" Culled from Voetbalkrant (as translated) Frey scored again on Sunday, Balikwisha also seems to show completely why Antwerp paid so much money for him after a difficult season. But in the lee, Alhassan Yusuf is also working on a strong start to the season. The timid Nigerian also set out on Sunday against OHL at Antwerp. Almost six full matches in less than twenty days don't seem to bother Alhassan Yusuf . The 22-year-old midfielder also trotted over the turf in the Bosuil against OH Leuven on Sunday. Very strong in recuperation, simple but neat football in possession. It is sometimes said that Antwerp will only get oldies, well: the Great Old will earn a lot from this Yusuf in the long run. "I am in great form and the midfield is also running very well at the moment. The relationship with Nainggolan and Gerkens is fine," said Yusuf. Birger Verstraete (Alhassan's Teammate & MF) also sees this, and has to be content with short substitutes for the time being. "As a defensive midfielder I try to keep the game under control," Yusuf tells GVA . "The coach makes everything much easier for me. He gives me a lot of tips about tactical discipline and how to choose position," concludes Yusuf, who is close to the Nigerian national team. Toby Alderweireld also praised his Nigerian teammate after the match against OH Leuven. "Alhassan reads the game well and keeps walking. He is doing great, especially with the right coaching and tactical guidelines. He has started the season very well." 2 Likes 1 Share

Relax. Right now, Aribo still earns his place in our starting XI. But tactically, it should be as a roaming AM/SS. But with time, in order to further raise the quality of our middle game, a midfield tactical evolution in the GWG is inevitable. A SANE AND Forward/Progressive-thinking PERSON KNOWS THIS. And ofcoz, both lads (Aribo & Alhassan) dont play same position. Alhassan coming into the first XI in another Midfield Combo Option of Ndidi-Alhassan-Iwobi is NOT TO actually take Aribo's role. Alhassan in that trio option plays deeper. It is rather Iwobi who pushes forward into the CAM role. BannedLarge: 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: We have to many wingers/forwards available that aribo can’t play that position or should we select a 4321 formation. Presently, our best midfield trio are iwobi, Ndidi and Aribo anything else is false |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 6:33am On Aug 09, 2022 |
Did you read what I wrote at all? I am talking AM/SS and you are talking wingers/forwards. Read! And Ndidi-Iwobi-Aribo is yet to be tested in that exact tactical set-up even though I have already and since said before now that they should be and are our current first choice midfield 3. But because they are the current midfield 3 doesn't mean we can't think of upgrading it. There are other quality midfield trio options we must be open to if we are to indeed get the best Midfield that indeed works and to also provide quality cover in case one or two of the regulars go missing. Think progressive. Think Forward. Don't stay stiff. BannedLarge: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: I said that for now, the trio of ndidi, aribo and iwobi are our best 3 and if we are to try something different, they had to be better than the trio |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 7:05am On Aug 09, 2022 |
They are our best 3 based ONLY on pedigree, recent form and quality. The Truth remains we haven't even seen them in that exact tactical set-up with Aribo further forward and Iwobi deep in midfield. They haven't been tried yet. So how did you conclude that it is our ACTUAL best 3? See my angle? This talk of them being our best 3 for now is based on analytical assumptions/breakdowns albeit very solid ones, that I myself made months ago. But what is your own basis? Coz we have never used them before together in such tactical form. Right now, they look the part but they also have to show it to prove our theory right. And even when that is finally done and established, I am saying that the midfield can still be upgraded with time because Ndidi-Iwobi-Aribo still has few things missing. I could write a whole chapter on this but the conclusions are these: ▶️Is Ndidi-Iwobi-Aribo our current best midfield lineup? Potentially, Yes. I have since talked about this since the Eguavoen rubbish at the Afcon. ▶️Has it been actually tested in that EXACT tactical form? Answer is NO but it has huge potentials to prove our theory correct, FOR NOW. ▶️Can we do better than Ndidi-Iwobi-Aribo with time? ANSWER is Yes. The technical and tactical qualities of a few other midfielders available to us suggest an upgrade is very possible for the betterment of the team's midfield dynamics. Best selections should not be based on names or popularity. It's no popularity contest. BannedLarge: 1 Like 1 Share |
