I'll repeat, that interview was a competition between Ten Hag and Poch for the job. He's only going to state the ideal situation in which he can work. And total control over the players brought in is definitely not one of them.

What he wants is control which every manager in any well run club has. If he's saying yes or no to players offered to him he has control. Solely identifying the players is total control.
