Exactly. Football na gamble. A promising player today could become a deadwood overnight.

That salary is a life changing wages, reducing his wages is giving him bad vibes.. they way I see it, he will drag it to the end with barka

E bi like say d boy no good.

Man City that Pep inherited was neck and neck in title race and looking likely to win it until the rug was pulled from Pellegrinis feet
in Jan with the announcement, and he stopped trying while the players stopped playing for him. Below are match week tables before Pellegrini was cãstrated.
With Yaya Toure being the engine and motivator of the team, when he heard that Pep was coming to city, he realised that his career was screwed for the second and last time. Man lost interest in football which affected the whole team with the morale down, Modric had to say that city were not even trying when they played in CL semi final.

What was your primary reason for the screenshot you posted?
That the English League is the club's FIRST priority before any other title.

That is what the Fergusons and Shanklys etc always said until Guardiola started hoarding it. Then the narrative changed to Champion's league.

boss you lied that Man City brought Pep just to win UCL as if you're part of their board

I gave you the statement of an actual Board member and you're asking funny questions

what has stopped them from sacking Pep if he is not meeting their objective? they didn't hesitate to sack Mancini and Pelegrini

it's only in nairaland that a Rival club's Fan will claim to know the objectives of a Rival Club than it's CEO
Pep once told some investors in a private call that he will like to coach a national team one day and you need to see the way City management had to quickly put out a rejoinder that he is not referring to any time soon. Even Sheikh Monsour invited the man to personally beg him to renew. That is the man who is not meeting targets. lol

Is it safe to say that Pep has been a big and terrible failure in UCL as a City manager? Or should we spin this fact with EPL trophy that took him 1b+ to dominate?

The first question is very important to answer chief.

He has been above average in the CL - his second priority. He is the overall best in his main target - EPL.

1b+ is cumulative right? He had won 2 EPL titles for e.g before even spending 400M. Some other managers are on their 8th season with 700M spent and they still have just 1.

I don't know why you are insisting on responding without assimilating the fact that was first presented to you. Those screenshots have shown you the scale of preference:

1. English Premier League
2. Champion's League

We are discussing about the intention of Mancity prior to the employment of Guardiola. So, if at all you want to present a substantial fact then resort to quotes made prior to Guardiola's employment not after losing and failing up and down.

That I call face saving.

Which year was the statement made?

the year it was made it's irrelevant. the fact is that it was made by the CEO

Man City is a serious club that has shown to be ruthless in sacking Managers in the past, if Pep has not be good enough for them, he would have been sacked long ago cause i sincerely doubt that you as a rival fan is more interested in City's Success than City's board and Owners

I sincerely don’t care about other managers, but just discussing about Pep.

Are you saying a manager who hasn’t won UCL in 11 years after managing the best spending clubs in Germany and England has been average and not a failure?

I mean a manger who’s supposed to be ranked alongside with Carlo and Mou who has won UCL with different clubs?

You are not as clever as you think. Simply bring City management stating Pep's objective prior to 2016 as well.

Success in a cup competition is relative. Pep got to back to back to back SFs in Bayern. Carlo did not do it and was fired. Hansi Flick did not do it as well.

Pep has made a CL final and a SF back to back in City. Mancini and Pelle did not do it.

Mourinho finished 10th with Chelsea and was fired. I can't bring him into a discussion with his seniors.

I believe this is why he doesn't want to take pay cut. Barca like other clubs can discard players at any point.

See people like Gavi, Fati and Pedri that they are hyping, at any slight drop in form and another player comes in, their time at Barca could be up. Xavi for instance is playing Dembele and Raphinha as wingers ahead of Fati, and Fati can bench Lewandowski.. Fati time could be up.

Frenkie de Jong forming I love Barca and take pay cut, the club won't hesitate to dump him especially when the likes of Gavi and Pedri are doing well.

So, the young man wants to keep earning his salary because he knows the future is not bright

Damn. You really sat down and composed this shit, all because a player is refusing to come.. C'mon... You can do better.

How on earth can you even claim that FDJ's future isn't bright? Mention 5 young midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order right now? Chelsea doesn't any young midfielders/players including that talentless Mount that y'all heap praises on but you somehow think FDJ doesn't have a fruitful future ahead of him.

C'mon... Be logical.
