Those feints and twisting tigers there. grin

She makes one expect a big chance once the ball is at her foot. Counter attack will totally fit our style.

France has never lost a group stage match until today so it's understandable.
Do you know if they were strong contenders before the tournament?

This win is bigger than we seeing it o. Like these french girls are in psg, Marseille, lyon o.
You don't mean it. Never underrate the power of opportunity and chance. Imagine the Calibre of clubs you mentioned compared to our girls'

The goalkeeper must be told to stop coming out unnecessarily, Her average height was almost used against her.. Hopefully as the tournament progresses we would continue to improve...

This girl's didn't play any international friendly going to this tournament.. They tried.
Any good replacement for that Alani girl? She plays like a bench player at best.

Our gk spilled some balls truly. I thought the rain was at play too. She got 5 saves in this game i think.

One happy take away is the vision these girls have. The rain affected their game no doubt.

Nice gesture from the french coach to congratulate our coach for breaking their record. That's a lot.

You mean you have never heard of Sebastine ? She was nominated for CAF young player award.

Wow, are you serious?

And to think I even watched that award show. I just didn't take note of most of the names mentioned.

I love the way she scored today. Placement over power. Very smart

The performance was solid and win deserved. However, I don't we are yet a final contender based on this game. Sabastine seems to be our only threat upfront. We almost lost the game. The team is not bad, but nothing close to the Oshoala times yet. Emphasis on yet. This is just the first game and things like this can happen. Good performance btw.
Succinctly put. I believe this win would further boost their confidence, don’t forget France is European powerhouse, we just have to keep encouraging them and hope they gets even better as the tournament advances.

Yes, because Idoko also dropped a bit deeper a few times in the game to use her passing to bring her fellow forwards into the game. She gave off some kind of trequartista (AKA Deeplying forward) vibe when she operated like that in some phases of the game.

I really like her kind of forward. Hard to pick out.

daveP:
Okay. I saw three of her key passes down the middle plus her connection with our no 8. Gracias.

Idoko. Noted

I think they are. The commentator also mentioned that we and them are favorites to qualify from the group.

I think the commentator explained why she's unattached. Signing for two clubs caused some issues prior to now.

Is everything properly resolved now?

She was nominated for two different award though she lost the award to a Ghanaian.

Yea...I knew she would score. Very smart goal... No rushing, opening up her body to take charge and the placement. Very intelligent.

Her passing on ground is quite good.
Issue is: you can't pass the ball effectively on a waterlogged pitch, especially out of defence.
That's true. I hope rain doesn't disturb our next game. Let's see their flow on a dry and warm day.

I wished Flourish Sabastine was playing Club football like the others prior to the tournament, She has been out of Club football since qualifying games for the World Cup started...

She's currently listed Unattached, not even her Academy was listed there...

This is the lucozade boost we need to go all the way. They underrated flag can follow us. Those french girls sabi positioning. But our defenders got the better of them.

Increase the volume for those at the back. This is what makes this Victory quite huge for our girls. They played against actual pros in some of the best sides in the women's game in Europe.

Plus the French girls are European Champs.

Increase thy volume.... although it's not eureka yet. But still Increase am. grin

Yea. She definitely has my attention now. One more question: Is it 'Sebastine' or 'Sabastine'?.

I saw 'Sabastine' on her jersey.

We dominated them. France should have seen more yellow card though. Nasty tackles from them... The stamp, the kick to the head... Some of these fouls, if from an African team would be reviewed by VAR and termed serious. SMH

Joy Jerry, Mercy Idoko, Blessing Okpe, Chinyere Kalu can also be a major surprise to us..!

You can also take a look at Monle Omini, who I see as a low budget Alaba Jonathan

Our 5 Star Players

Add Mercy Idoko, Joy Jerry need to do better than this cause she’s a good player and a regular at Bayelsa Queens..

Well, these things become less important in age grade competitions. I'm not keeping my hopes high till I see the next group games.
