That is largely true and it is because many "dealers" here are just middle men trying to make a living on enthusiasts who don't want to go to the market. I almost paid for 300W flame solar panels here until my local installer got them for me from Alaba for about 10K lower. What they do is to advertise goods in other people's shops as their own. It is the reason why they also try to put people under pressure to pay fast as the "stock is small". I personally would have preferred that this place is reserved for hobbyists and enthusiasts while marketers and middle men set up their own thread.

Nor will I be the last

People are getting smarter. If u put in a little more informed effort you can actually land some equipment at manufacturer prices...waaaay less than advertised here. I have 4 fangpusun products en-route straight from manufacturer..all costing about half or a third the cumulative advertised prices of some sellers here.

Please big sellers should pls be more humane in their price listings, because once one can smell that buyers are being exploited on a certain product they lose faith in other items advertised.

DIY is fun.

Update 21/8/19:
Took delivery of my items yesterday and deployed the 100v|30amps to service immediately. kiss

In short, it pays to take your time.

From all I've learnt from this thread I just finished my DIY setup. It consist of the following:
1.2kva TBB inverter
2 * 100AH sunfit batteries
Solar Talkers 40 amps mppt charge controller...

I'm looking at adding panels soon.

Congratulations!

Lookout for those batteries, not so good a product. Hook up panels ASAP to extend the batteries life.

Please I need suggestions on the Best battery that can last longer say from 8am to 8pm. A typical Bet9ja shop.
I have 10 panels of 5 150w and 5 180w. I have been using 3 x100ah which is 300ah total.
I want an upgrade that will serve that time interval for me.
I just upgraded the charge control to from 30 to 100ah. I use 2000w power inverter.
Now I really need to know the best battery . I wish to get 2x 200ah totally 400ah. Or any from the advice I will be getting.
Please which is the best battery out there?

What type of charge controller and inverter do you use? And how are your panels connected to your CC?
Reason being that if your system is not setup for optimal yield, a larger battery bank might not still save the situation in the long run....

well said bro.
the annoying thing is dat dey hate honouring warranties. i cant forget buy AC watt meter few years back. ordinarily the meter were 9k each but the marketer infilated it to 15k and came up dat i must buy 2 units it he his to take it to park for haulage.
i was shocked when it got to me here, i noticed they were not the actual ones advertised here and infact one of the meters had a rusty battery and never worked. the other one was deployed but died less than a week infact i have since learned my lesson.
it has since been on exhibit show to people who comes to see my solar setup since then.
see the pix below.
can u see how marketers take us for a ride by just dumping their weighty pricelists here with ruthless insolence without review of each of their wares for the grow of diy. i wonder what goes on in their brains. too much calculations of millions perhaps

A PWM CC
SUOER power inverter
Parallel connections
5 panels each separated to one CC

If you can afford lithium specifically lifepo4 batteries then go for that

From this breakdown we can clearly see that your system will never achieve optimal yield, it won't even come close, as the majority of energy produced (almost 75% of estimated yield is lost due to limitations and general inefficiency); as your 30a own cc can only max out at 370w @12v, your new 100a CC might only be able to max out at 1200w (with optimal conditions).
I am deducing that Ur system is 12v since you mentioned 3pcs 100ah battery accumulating to 300ah, which means it's a 12v 300ah setup.

So before u go further, I would advise the following:-
Scale up Ur system to 24v
Get an mppt charge controller/s
Alternatively, u can get a high VOC hybrid inverter
Get a 24v lithium battery bank as getting a "good" lead acid replacement will be almost in the same price bracket.

Experts can make corrections and add as might be necessary, as I am not an expert just giving my honest opinion. Cheers.......

Good morning all,
Please I am planning to go green and need your input on which is a better option between flooded and AGM/SMF batteries as I plan on getting it.

With the proper maintenance (battery rotation, equalization, etc) which amongst the 2 will last longer (I can't currently afford to get a new 24v lithium bank).

Proposed set up.
1. 1.5kva 24v luminous hybrid inverter
2. 4x 350W panels
3. 60A Techfine or Powmr MPPT CC
4. 24V 200AH to 305AH battery bank.

Any other other advice will be very much appreciated

Thank you

The inverter has a single dimension(form factor) for various capacities. Only the weight will differ

Joke apart...run ur system at 24v with ur sunfit( though a wrong choice). Is just dat u dont v a 24v inverter. Sorry bro but u for do aggressive asking.

It is painful sha pele.

At times replying to some questions here turn to insults.

IF NA 12V UR POWER CARRY CONTINUE WITH UR SET UP.

Dont eat out of ur bank dan necessary.

TRUTH BE TOLD, YOU HAVE A WORKING SYSTEM USE IT. If ur appliances are common ones e.g Tv, fans, sound system, lightings and laptop then u r good to go.

Observe ur set up for now as it is too early to feel bad.
