What I said was clear na. A competent recruitment team lead by the DOF should be the one that identifies the players and presents them as options to the manager. *But the players have to fit the Manager's style and philosophy*.

But the manager can also select one or two players he personally wants. This was the way it worked at Ajax. Most of the players ETH got the chance to scout himself ended up as flops. Most of these, players he's worked with before.
