I honestly know how it feels to be in such a position. Those agents think they can treat people as they please. It high time we taught them some lessons. I don't know how they sleep at night.
Fehgur:
Good evening Guys!

I did my application through an agency that works with a RCIC. I got a message from her that my application application was submitted on the 13th of April and I had my biometric done on the 27th of April. But the thing is I don’t even know the status of my application right now because when I asked for access to my application, I was told it was impossible as she had submitted the application through her RCIC portal. Please is there anyone in similar situation? It’s getting really frustrating.

Did you mention in your post that the person just applied or is yet to apply? You only said it’s not possible so i needed to know why... we learn everyday even the gurus are not Islands and you can make your points void of insults... be guided and warned

1. Not sure what you’re on about but nowhere did the original poster say the applicant was yet to apply. They also didn’t say it wasn’t possible to receive a final decision before September 6. They said the applicant “might” not receive one and they wanted to be proactive. Whether you just applied or have an application looming over 12 weeks, it is not advisable to assume IRCC will respond before your required deadline.

2. You’re right. We do learn everyday. This is why it’s better to allow those equipped with immigration knowledge to share the facts. The applicant in question specifically requested for guru and consultant takes. Not fellow applicants. No one is saying you cannot contribute but be aware that if your contribution has plot holes, they will be pointed out.

3. There wasn’t a single insult in anything written there. If you feel that way, you’re free to highlight what caused you to feel insulted. I simply pointed out the irony of asking if IRCC is on leave while having an application that has been looming for months. You seem a tad too defensive.

The GCMS notes should show the detailed reason why the application was rejected, if you can post that part for the house members to see and give you advice it will be good. If you can't post it here, you can send it privately to me let us join our heads on it and interpret.[please how do one private chat someone in nairaland? And how do I send a msg to the house /quote]

Dear All,
This scenario if for a friend, He was admitted for fall semester 2022, his resumption date is 6th of September 2022.
From the look of things, he might not get approval before this date. Also his school dont have Jan 2023 date, the closest date available for him is September 2023. His school has warned him that he will not be allowed for classes should he arrive Canada after Sept 6 ,2022.

The duration of his course is September,2022 to April 2023. His study permit approval date will likely fall within these dates.
So my question here is, if he get approval by October or after Sept 6th 2022 and he gets new admission date for Sept 2023, when can he travel to canada.

Also if he decides to go for two years course or change course for the same DLI, what is the likelihood of getting permit extension. Can he leave for Canada before his Visa expiration in April 2023 if he get approved .
People within similar experince you input is required here, all the maple land Gurus and Nairaland consultants,I beg help afriend in need.
Thanks for your anticipated answers.
NB the guy actually applied since 19th of may 2022, medial done 20th of July. Application was 12 week by yesterday, two webform sent for medicals with email. Yesterday webform telling IRCC the application is now 12 week was sent.
Presently , medical not processed, eligibility not yet started, why should he not get worried.
Which time had he to book flight, find accomodations and travel
That is the his main concern

PPR means passport request. It’s the message you get to submit your original passport for visa stamp when your application has been approved.

Thanks for the information.

Ketima:

Hello,

You can book AirCanada from anywhere in the world. The only issue from Nigeria is the CBN policy that's limiting online transactions. So if you have dollar card, go to AirCanada.com. is so straight forward.

But note you can't book AirCanada going from Nigeria. They don't operate from Nigeria. As member of star alliance airlines, they work with Ethiopian airline.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Rheality: 12:56am On Aug 13, 2022
Thanks alot. I appreciate

Profgordons:

You don’t have to book on Air Canada or West Jest as they don’t have originating flight from Nigeria. If you book on all the other airlines like KLM, Lufthansa, Egypt Air, Ethiopian Airways etc, they have arrangements with those regional airlines that will fly you to your final destination but the problem is that your flight will now be considered a local flight, also because the aircrafts are smaller you are now entitled to less luggage limit. Unless the Airport you arrived at is your final destination.

I'm submitting my application in the 16th September 2022... Can I go for upfront medical now? Thanks
CharitoJames:

Police clearance is not needed for study permit
Upfront medicals is important and okay... you can go for the medicals. You can wait for any other person to give you a contact if you must go for it. Police clearance or not, your background must still be checked.

In the same position… I applied May 15th to resume September. Criminality and Medicals passed, Eligibility yet to start. My prayer is that my PPR comes before September 6th, if not the next step is to defer before resumption (6th), to the next available intake.

When visa comes maybe after September you or your friend have to wait till 2023 before you travel, unless you have someone in Canada that can house you and feed you till September 2023 then you have no problem traveling when your visa application is approved.
