Azikiwe campaigned easily in the SW but Awo was stoned in the SE for campaigning.

That’s the same thing they are doing to Tinubu. They are making sure he won’t be able to campaign in the SE, where they term any Igbo that support Tinubu as efulefu and always cancel them.

Yet the same people want to be left alone to campaign in the SW while some Yoruba guys with severe confusionists complex will be sheering them on.

Pa Awo, the then financial minister advised the federal government after the civil war to settle Igbos with bank account holders with just twenty pounds in lieu to whatever amount they might have saved up in the banks prior to the war. Also, it was alleged that he advised government to declare properties left behind in other regions by fleeing Igbos as abandoned property. These are the grudges the Igbos nursed against Pa Awo which caused the stoning at Aba. Although the extent of truth behind the story cannot be substantiated.
