Webform and emails are the only way. Note: you must use the email address linked to your application.

Apparently the agent used her own email and they are bent on not sending the information sheet for me

Can’t I use my personal email and can’t I raise a web form by myself? This whole thing is frustrating

Thank you.

Good read. And congrats again.

I've heard someone say the yellow card is something we get before the travel date. Please confirm this and the requirements for obtaining it. - first-time Int'l traveller God willing.

CentennialGuy:
Landing Gist - Lagos to Toronto Via EgyptAir. August 9 - 10, 2022.

LAGOS AIRPORT
I got to the Lagos Airport around 8:30am. My flight was for 2pm. I had to give the security guys at the entrance 1k for them to allow my people go in with me. After my luggages went through the scanner, I gave the immigration officers that were suppose to do manual check after the scanner 1k so l can move on. Then I proceeded to Agriculture where I opened one of the luggage that had some food item for them to check. They checked and told me to go. Then I proceeded to EgyptAir stand.

EgyptAir didn't start on time for us because there were some Nigerians going on pilgrimage to Jerusalem via Egypt that they were attending to. They were the majority on our flight to Cairo. Anyways, by 10am I had cleared the EgyptAir check and checked in my bags. They weren't overweight. They asked for ArriveCan, Acceptance Letter, Enrollment Letter and School Fees Receipt.

By 10:30am, my people left and I proceeded to immigration. I was given yellow card by EgyptAir which I filled and I dropped with the immigration officers. Then I proceeded to the scanner where we will drop our carry on bags, laptops, phones, keys etc in a bowl to pass through the scanner. Now, I had the scariest moment of my life at this point. I shared this experience with family members only before now. I decided to share with you guys so you can learn from the experience. Always hold your Passport with you!

At the point of the scanner the immigration officer there asked us to put all our things in the bowl including our passport. It was just me and one Arab guy, possibly Lebanese. He could speak Yoruba and was dashing immigration guys money. So we placed our things in Separate bowls and I went ahead through the scanner but he didn't go through the scanner. The immigration officer asked him to come and he did manual check for him and he let him go.

So I exited the scanner to go collect my things. I wore my shoes, picked up my glasses, phones, wallet and Passport. Passport? My passport with the boarding pass was no where to be found. It was missing! At that moment, it felt like my world has ended and that village people caught up with me. I was in disarray and I started shouting. In the process of shouting, I kept saying it was me and the Arab guy that came to that point together and now my Passport is missing. One of the senior immigration officers approached me and asked me which guy. I turned round and and pointed at him just before he exited that place and be gone forever! The officer approached him. I don't know what he told him because I wasn't looking as I was still in disarray and lo and behold, my Passport and boarding pass resurfaced! The excuse I got is that he also has a Nigerian Passport and he mistakenly took mine. Yet his own passport was still with him. I don't buy that story but all good. God saved and delivered me already. I collected my Passport and left. Whew!

All through the rest of the journey, I held my Passport with me till I exited Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada.

CAIRO AIRPORT.
We got to Cairo around 9pm Cairo time which is 8pm Nigerian time. The Airport is bigger and finer than MMA. A bus took us to Terminal 3 and it was a long walk combined with lift and escalators to get to gate F where will be boarding to Toronto. We waited around for another 3 hours before we started boarding and took off to Toronto around 2am. They only checked our passport, boarding pass and ArriveCan here. I showed them theArriveCan receipt on the phone as the lady in Lagos had taken the only copy I printed. It was a smooth 11.5hrs journey to Toronto. The plane is alot bigger than the one that took us from Lagos to Cairo. Comfy ride all through.

TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT
We landed in Toronto around 8am Toronto time. Now, this airport is huge. And fine and well layed out. The walk to the self service kiosk is also long but we got there. I had done my declaration ahead in the ArriveCan, so I was pretty quick at the service kiosk. I scanned my Passport, machine took my photograph and printed my receipt. We were taken to the place where will collect our study permit. Our letter of Introduction was collected and we were told to sit down. They called us one after the other. You will enter the office, the border officer will collect your passport, check your info on the system, check your visa and stamp your passport. Then your study permit will be given to you. No questions asked.
I proceeded to baggage claim. When I got there, I asked one of the officers which carousel could be carrying the baggages from EgyptAir because the carousels were so many that I didn't want to be going one by one to check. He asked his colleague on his walkie talkie. He said Carousel 7, I went there. Found my bags in 7 and then in 6. Took the train within the airport to get to Terminal 3 where the car that came to get me was parked and I was on my way.

FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT ON THE FLIGHT.
The food was Okay. Although the Rice, chicken and sauce from Cairo to Toronto was better than Lagos to Cairo. They served us twice Lagos to Cairo and 3 times on the flight from Cairo to Lagos. I filled my time with movies that I haven't watched before. And then a little sleep, a little prayers here and there and I didn't feel bored on the flight till we got to Toronto.

It was a great journey in general. I haven't gone out yet as I only arrived yesterday and I'm still on my bed right now. It's around 8am here. But from our drive from the airport to home, I will say Canada is beautiful. May all of us that desire it experience it all in Jesus name.

PS: Don't forget to come with your universal adapter. The picture attached is what their socket looks like. Buy the one that has USB port with it. It's about 4k.

Have a great day you all!

The yellow card was given to me by EgyptAir alongside with my boarding passes., told to fill it and drop it with immigration. There were no requirements. Don't sweat it, it's nothing to worry about. It will be given to you at the airport.

Hi Sunkanmi562,

Any of the stated options is fine. You will only have to backup your decision with a cogent cause. Meanwhile, your UK education favours your travel history. Hence, you are not at disadvantage.

Can't wait to eventually celebrate with you!

Thanks brother so I studied architecture for bsc and construction project management for msc and i will like go for a post graduate certificate in canada. Pls advice what courses i can take because i was thinking of BIM but the issue with this is i am not seeing enough schools offering it and the one i saw at Fanshawe college, I couldn’t meet up with the requirements cos i have to have a certificate on BIM.

Good morning fam! Please I need some advice here. I have been an ardent follower of this thread and I'm about to commence my study visa application.
(1) My undergraduate study is sociology and I have worked for 4years in the Energy Sector at an electricity distribution company in the commercial department and intend embarking on studying PGDip Business Analytics at a college in Canada rather than a university. Is this going to have any red flag in my visa application?

(2) There likely will be a lump sum in my statement of account of about 15million naira which I got as a loan from a friend. How do I justify this in my LOVE/SOP?

Thanks!
Send a DM for the SOP

1. Not sure what you’re on about but nowhere did the original poster say the applicant was yet to apply. They also didn’t say it wasn’t possible to receive a final decision before September 6. They said the applicant “might” not receive one and they wanted to be proactive. Whether you just applied or have an application looming over 12 weeks, it is not advisable to assume IRCC will respond before your required deadline.

2. You’re right. We do learn everyday. This is why it’s better to allow those equipped with immigration knowledge to share the facts. The applicant in question specifically requested for guru and consultant takes. Not fellow applicants. No one is saying you cannot contribute but be aware that if your contribution has plot holes, they will be pointed out.

3. There wasn’t a single insult in anything written there. If you feel that way, you’re free to highlight what caused you to feel insulted. I simply pointed out the irony of asking if IRCC is on leave while having an application that has been looming for months. You seem a tad too defensive.

And while jumping into my question to answer me... did you realize i asked out of curiosity a d ready to learn? No you didn’t. People come here daily and ask questions to learn and yes he didn’t mention the above that was why i needed to know why IRCC won’t give a decision before then because i see PPR almost daily in here. So if one says they might likely NOT... it calls for concerns. He asked for the Gurus to answer... I didn’t answer, i only asked him a question so read and assimilate before looking for who to pull down. Guru or not, this App belongs to everyone. If you are waiting for only Gurus to speak here... this place would have been dead by now.

Dear All,
This scenario if for a friend, He was admitted for fall semester 2022, his resumption date is 6th of September 2022.
From the look of things, he might not get approval before this date. Also his school dont have Jan 2023 date, the closest date available for him is September 2023. His school has warned him that he will not be allowed for classes should he arrive Canada after Sept 6 ,2022.

The duration of his course is September,2022 to April 2023. His study permit approval date will likely fall within these dates.
So my question here is, if he get approval by October or after Sept 6th 2022 and he gets new admission date for Sept 2023, when can he travel to canada.

Also if he decides to go for two years course or change course for the same DLI, what is the likelihood of getting permit extension. Can he leave for Canada before his Visa expiration in April 2023 if he get approved .
People within similar experince you input is required here, all the maple land Gurus and Nairaland consultants,I beg help afriend in need.
Thanks for your anticipated answers.

I’m facing the same thing too. I hope I get a positive reply from ircc soon because I don’t know what to do

I got a PFL in March for my study application while waiting for Passport Request.

I responded within the 15days given, but I am yet to be provided a decision. 5months now.

What’s the decision time anyone has experienced ?

Can I order GCMS note from Nigeria ?

So sorry about this... please if i may ask, what was the PFL for?

Now, let me explain something to you. The medical request you got from IRCC is not the regular one that guarantees 95% or thereabout of visa approval. How did I know this? I did my medicals at IOM Ikeja on 27th July. There's this new lady there from one other African country (I can't remember now). She explained severally that for those who came for upfront medicals, 5 days after their medical exam results is sent to IRCC, they will receive a medical request. That when such happens, they shouldn't panic. And also, they should not book another medical as the one they did is valid for a year. That, the only thing they should do is send an email to IRCC requesting that the results of the medicals they have done be linked to their files. The email should include a copy of the e-medical information sheet (The one issued at IOM) as an attachment.

In summary, you don't have to do another medicals.

Please I don’t understand the not the regular request. Do we have different requests? I know IRCC can still send request after you’ve done upfront and you just resend the upfront to them or so.
