Lol… you call 16k nursing degree expensive grin
Check with other schools then… most private schools in USA are cheaper than state own unlike what we have in Nigeria.
Really?
Actually, that fee is part of the information I saw. Maybe the fee could be a session fee in that school, rather than total fee to study the course

Hi, Good evening everyone. Please my interview date is on 19th August and since I deferred to January, it’s going to be more than 120 days to the spring resumption date. Please what’s going to happen? Will they withhold my passport?
I’m not sure how true this is, but will they give yellow paper?

On the travel dot gov website it says “ Student (F and M) visas for new students can be issued up to 120 days in advance of the start date for a course of study. However, you will not be allowed to enter the United States on your student visa more than 30 days before the start date “

Don't reschedule your date because it might be difficult to secure another one.

From the rule of thumb (going by what I observed on this thread), they will inform you when to bring your passport for the visa to be stamped into it. Just go for the interview, and excel.

Op that asked the question, Follow this advice above! When you're visa is granted they'll ask if you either want to leave your passport with the embassy, or take it with and DHL it back to the embassy at the stipulated time (120 days window).

Hello Good evening
I have a b1/b2 visa and a F1 visa. I want to travel (pleasure), but since I can’t use the F1 visa as it is not yet 30 days to resumption date, Can I use the visiting visa at the Immigration place at the airport?
If I eventually use the B1/B2 visa and travel, Do I have to come back to nigeria and re enter USA with my F1 visa when it’s close to my resumption date?
Or since I would be going to a different state than the state the school is in, can I just use the student visa and book a local (state to state) flight to the school instead of coming back to Nigeria and re entering

Yes, I applied on 15th July and it got approved yesterday on 9th August. A whole lot of slots were open for only 6:30 am or 7 am. from 12th August to 3rd Sept 30 persons for each day. so i picked one of the dates.

Please can you add me to the mock class group? i really need to share what i have prepared and be sure i am ready. i have travelled to US before on B1B2 but this is really different. can someone help please.

Thank you.

Please can you share what documents you used to apply for emergency or share any tips that helped you get approved? I’ve been denied in Abuja and school starts in 2 weeks time. Thank you!

my EA was approved on august 4th after i had already secured an august 12th interview date. The email stated the EA was valid until August 30th

Sadly, I was denied the visa on Aug 12th.

My question now is; if i pay for another visa fee, would i still be able to use my EA??

My funding is really at stake

Thanks

You may have to call the embassy helpline for an answer to that question.

What did you submit for your EA request? Any tips for getting approved?

According to the website:

“Applicants who are granted an expedited appointment but subsequently refused a visa at either the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will not be allowed to utilize this option in either location to obtain another expedited appointment.“

Dear Famz,

Please kindly advise on this ..the earliest appointment date i could secure is September 2nd,and my resumption date is august 22,,.

i want to ask if it possible for me to go for my interview on that september..because I got an info that someone can still be interviewed and can still travel prior to 30days after resumption date on ur 1-20.
and i can also get a letter from the school for late resumption.

please guru's in the house..

Change of status is possible theoretically and is supposed to cost around $460 which I guess is cheaper than flying back to Nigeria. The issue is that nowadays processing times are 11-23 months so it is unlikely you can maintain B1/B2 status for that long, and you cannot under any circumstances enroll in classes while on a B1/B2 visa. Moving from one state to another in the US does not change your status and again you have to be EXTREMELY careful not to do anything school related while visiting because they will certainly check this at whatever point you try to change your status. The only realistic choice is to leave the US and re-enter on F1. Thankfully you don't have to come back to Nigeria to do this. You can just go to Canada or Mexico for a weekend and re-enter on f1. Mexico might be easier because you don't need a Mexican visa if you already have a US visa. The laws are nuanced so make sure you know them well so that you can be clear with border officials that you will not be violating the terms of either visas when applying for entry.

Hello, please is VISA Appointments still as far back as 2024, 2025? I see quite a number of people 9”on Twitter migrating with the fall intake and I’m wondering when they applied.

@shannon70

Please my interview is tomorrow, can I still update my ds160 today?

I requested for a deferral of my fall admission, and I have a new program start date which is in spring.

I believe I should update intended date of arrival on my i20 from august 2022 to December 2022, should I do that now? or should I simply attend the interview with my spring i20?

or should I leave the DS160 as it is, and simply go to the embassy with the fall i20?

u can't update a submitted ds160 unless u call the cgi to do it from there end, u can't submit a new one in less than 72hrs to ur interview either, I feel you should leave it like that and explain ur situation to the VO
