William Ruto has become Kenya's new president-elect winning the popular vote.

Ruto was the country's deputy president but managed to win the top job in last Tuesday's Kenya's hotly-contested general election vote.

Congrats to him, my Kenyan friend was very unhappy yesterday during our conversation on Facebook because his preferred candidate Raila Odinga wasn't doing well.

This William Ruto is the current vice President in Kenya, he and his boss (the current president) are not in good terms, president Uhuru Kenyatta even supported the opposition candidate Raila Odinga against his own vice William Ruto, but this is the verdict of Kenyans.

Raila Odinga isn't just lucky.

Congrats to Peter Obi in advance, this is the kind of shock that awaits PDP and APC next year.

Kenyans waited patiently for the final announcement of results, looking at their mobile phones

Raila Odinga contested for 3 times and lost 3 times.

William Ruto contested for the 1st time and won.

The General elections which hold every five (5) years were held in Kenya on August 9, 2022. Voters elected the President, members of the National Assembly and Senate, county governors of Kenya and members of the 47 county assemblies of Kenya.

The incumbent President, Uhuru Kenyatta is heavily backing serial opposition leader, Raila Odinga against incumbent Deputy President, William Ruto.

Peace pledge signed by all aspirants before the election was hoisted at the Bomas Centre where the results was announced.

With Ruto announced, his Certificate of Return was immediately, handed over to him by the IEBC Chair & hero of the moment, Wafula Chebukati. (INEC take note).

He should strive not to be like Buhari.
William Ruto, don't disappoint your people.

A young vibrant man.

The youths are gradually taking over.
Be like Kenya & vote wisely.
Vote for a man you would be proud enough to present to the world as your president.
Vote a man who can boldly stand in a United Nations meeting in-front of all the world leaders & give a speech.
Do not vote for a man who can't present his birth & school certificates to the world.
Do not vote a man who isn't bold enough to grant live interviews because he knows he would make a big fool of himself.
Do not vote for a man who would disgrace us in-front of the world.
Buhari has disgraced us enough, we do not need another old man to disgrace us further.
Vote for Peter Obi for a shame-free Nigeria.

Mr Ruto wins by 7.1 million votes.

Mr Odinga follows with 6.9 million votes.


Earlier the Vice-Chair of the Electoral Commission, Cherera and 3 other Commissioners announced at a different venue, they were not in support of the results.

I can't imagine the joy that will greet the face of well meaning Nigerians when ObiDatti will be declared Winner Come 2023

He's young. He's intelligent. And of course, he's not a religious fantastic.
A country that wants development will look for such people amongst her citizen and vote him as a leader not old hags who can't hold simple flag, who can't control his bladder, who can't even walk!
I wonder how such a nation will grow.
Indeed, there was a country.

Odinga is largely seen as an 'establishment' candidate, his fifth time contesting and had the backing of the incumbent/outgoing president, but the will of the people prevailed in the choice of a younger Ruto, who is contesting for the first time. My people, the youths of African has awaken to take back their countries, hope the 'experienced ' oldies in Nigeria are seeing what is happening around them.

But those dissenting commissioners are the ones nominated by Kenyatta, they have to at least show their oga that they 'did' something.
