it takes 5mins or less to prepare for the test ( At least that was the case when I did mine 3 years back ). The questions they ask you are just basic behavioral questions (Unless it has changed? ) Questions like if a client asks you to take work outside Upwork what will do you?

Just go to the Upwork readiness page, there will be a 5-10mins prep telling you about upwork policies, after that take the test, they will ask you questions on what you just read.

In addition to what codedboy said above.
In my case, those policies were to mega to read all through.
I opened all the subjects of those policies in separate tabs on pc, glance through them once.
Then took the test with my phone and refer to those tabs when am not sure of any query.

Gotta pass the test u knw.

His post was very clear if you ask me. Whatever job it is, the more intense the requirements, screening process and questions, the lesser the applicants.

Many freelancers just rush to apply. Intentionally or mistakenly ignoring the (trick) questions. Don’t be that freelancer.

Cover page is not a portfolio. If you didn’t sign an NDA or whatever it is called with your clients, I believe you can very well showcase the work. If you did, then you have to create mockup portfolios.

this is a very intersting question

when creating the portfolio, you will see advise that you get your client's permission.

this is especially notable as the work you have done, once paid for is technically the client's property/ip.

depending on how techie you are, you may consider blurring out logos etal

other option is just go for it , cross your fingers and hope for the best.
