Our permanent residence application was refused because of proof of funds. My husband is on Post Graduate Work Permit. He has a job and he’s the primary applicant. We are so confused and don’t know what to do. After waiting since February 2021. Please any advice will help

The date you transmitted it should be showing on your profile
upkay:

Yes, I transmitted it.

But still couldn't get the email acknowledging the update.

I don't want to miss vital information whenever there's update as regards my application.

I need more response on what to do.

Thanks all.

Please as anyone used IQAS for evaluation recently? I want to evaluate my LLB certificate but it's been difficult getting iQAS to evaluate. Covered my masters which would have been easier to evaluate with WES but due to the strike I haven't been able to get LLM certificate and transcript from Unilorin.

Because of proof of funds?? What happened to the proof of funds? Was it not complete?

Your husband needs to confirm if he applied as CEC, did he include his Canada job offer in his profile? He needs to speak with CEC applicants to see how they filled their EE portal and how they went about it. Besides the only solution now is sending the MP of your province and IRCC a detailed explanation of the situation and how you do not need POF if you are applying in Canada with a job, add links from their websites which says so and your file may be reopened. The application was denied for a reason that is not tenable.

Pls how did you know the reason why the school refused to verify and did you have to follow any special protocol with WES to newly upload your certificate?
I followed up with the school and I also called wes to confirm that they sent using them statement of result. Second time I called wes to confirm if it was sent using the certificate and they confirmed it was, the school too confirmed same.
I only went to the upload section on the wes portal and uploaded the certificate, no special protocol of any sort.

No it wasn’t , we saw on the website that we don’t need proof of funds if we had a job offer. Apparently they told us that a valid job offer is the one that comes with LMIA

We applied through FSW, a valid job offer under FSW has to be a job with an LMIA

I guess this may be the problem, not sure you can apply via FSW without POF. I think you should ensure your POF is complete, send a compassionate as I earlier stated attaching your bank statements showing the funds and appeal to have your application reopened.

Sorry two4, to be exempt from POF, PA needs to be CEC OR FSW with authorisation to work (Work Permit) as well as a valid job offer meeting other conditions (e.g. LMIA etc)....see link.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html

PGWP alone is not sufficient to exempt you from POF if you are FSW and not CEC....as far as I know.

Things to do:
*if you have the evidence required, then urgently send them to IRCC via webform and email. And try the MP angle as suggested already.
*worst case maybe PA should re-enter the pool
*since PA is already in Canada maybe get legal advice too
*as PrettyP said provide POF as a regular FSW would and ask for clemency.

Good day lovely people. I am happy to be here. I have a question please. I would love to know if the circled in the picture is the same as the BCS people are using to claim two certificates. I mean can I rest assured of two certificates if I do this program or do I have to write the BCS exam separately? Expecting your swift responses. Thanks.

Hi everyone. I want to share my good news (maybe?) and also ask some questions. By way of background, sometime in Feb 2020 (just before lockdown), I joined Nairaland because my EE application had just been refused for allegedly ‘claiming points for a professional degree in law’ even though my WES assessment of same indicates that it is a ‘bachelor degree in law’, and I needed all the assistance I could get. Indeed, God sent me angels from here who answered my questions and encouraged me to apply for a reconsideration/review. My application was eventually re-opened less than a month later and the hope was that we would receive PPR soon. That didn’t happen (full details on why later). So all through the covid lockdown, 2021 and half way through 2022, we heard nothing, despite several web forms raised and emails sent to addresses I obtained from the net.

Sometime in June, we received a request to redo our medical exams. From then on, we received a couple more requests and finally just last week, we received the ‘Ready for Visa Email’. I did not see it until after 2 days because it was sent to the first email registered with my account (which I changed after the initial rejection because my poor heart couldn’t take any more disappointments) and not the one currently listed on my account.

So now to my questions:
1. Even though we have received PPR email, there is no update on my CIC account - I read somewhere that this happens. Confirmations will put my mind at rest.
2. Which of the countries should we send our passports to and what is the process (submission, payment, etc)? I heard Accra and Kenya are fast, however, I have not been able to figure out the fees payable. My passport and my son’s will expire next year March, so we really need the passports stamped, so we can do first landing possibly before the end of the year, so please help.

PS: AOR was May 2019 - so almost 39 months (3 yrs and 3 months). Hope that encourages someone, however, I do not wish it for anyone.
I will share my full story when we get the COPR. Thanks in advance !

Hi Hi! Congrats on your PPR!

To answer question 1, yes, there was no update on my CIC page until counterfoil was generated. I still had in progress for most of the items and that only changed to "a decision has been made" after counterfoil was generated. I also did not receive any emails to this effect, I logged in to check when I received VFS email that my passport has been despatched back to VFS.

For the second question, I can only provide some information for VFS in Accra, the attached screenshot was valid as at April 2022 and held true if you were sending directly to Accra (cutting out Lagos/Abuja VFS)

Congrats are in order, no maybe about it ma. CONGRATULATIONS on the PPR as well as the reconsideration!!!

No letter in GC key account, only PPR email is common according to the word on the street. Some VOs send PPR as a letter in the GC key account while some send as a direct email. So nothing to worry about.

We hear Nairobi and Accra are fast. For any VFS you choose, I would advise you assume 4/5 weeks minimum, to lower anxiety levels. I think you can do a foreign currency transfer if you have a dollar account, or PM anyone who has used these VFSs here on NL. The gist is to avoid London VFS like the plague, 8 weeks has been the general experience there.

Congrats!

Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, Berlin, Rome, Warsaw....the world is your oyster! smiley

Search NL to read up on experiences. Things seem to change with time though, the one that was 6 weeks last month may have dropped to 4 weeks and the 2 week one from 2 months ago may now be 4 weeks.

BC has an international Post graduate pathway for graduates of natural and applied sciences (Masters or PhD). No job offer required. Check bc pnp page for more details. They have a pdf of eligible courses in eligible universities.

For those asking how to find out their VO......

Allegory gave some expo some time ago:

"saw this on telegram about finding out your vo

singapore-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca

spore.immigration@international.gc.ca

Send email to any of the emails above and ask of your status. By tomorrow they will reply you of your current VO
"

Even though I know my VO, I tested it and it worked. I'm not sure it's their job but I suspect they are just so efficient that they get a mail and immediately respond, redirecting you. They'll typically say they are not your VO but XXXX office is.

Hello ma'am. Congratulations on your PPR. I was so excited to read about your journey, thank you for always sharing and helping everyone here. I'm also one of the 2019 applicants (AOR September 2019), though I've been a guest on the page till now smiley.
Please do you know the email of the Canadian minister to send a mail to? I'd like to explore all other options before opting for the Mandamus like you did. Thank you.

Good morning everyone. Please I need your advice. I plan to take BCS exam in April to add to my 2 or more cert. When I called the number given for a Nigerian agency on their website, the amount he quoted was quite pricey.

My question is, is it better to take the course to them since they are the accredited agency for it?

Thanks!
