I’m curious about this upgrade of the two schools . What will happen to their lecturers who are mostly Masters degree holders ? Will the schools recruit PhD Holders in their stead or ask them to upgrade themselves within a certain period of time ?

Or is it just a change of name of the schools and not just change in the status from Diploma awarding institutions to higher degree awarding universities ?

The problem with this bet is most of the people that will be voting for Peter Obi come 2023 don't have #7 million lying around for betting, and there's more pressing use of that #7 million for the Peter Obi movement.

Update on Nigeria Refineries

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oAVMgR-KUQ

this is BS as far as i'm concerned

the refinery is 56 years old. netbook value of below 0. obsolete technology. what will one rehabilitate?

https://www.nsenergybusiness.com/projects/port-harcourt-refinery-rehabilitation/

The Nigerian government approved £1.08bn ($1.5bn) spending to rehabilitate and upgrade the Port Harcourt refinery complex in March 2021. The key contract for the refinery modernisation was also awarded in the same month.

i hope i am wrong, as it seems the company they awarded to is the real deal. but this just comes across as a sunk cost project.

I've said it. Lagosians will shock Tinubu. They are ready to unchain themselves from the political slavery he emeshed Lagos in.

Let's not even talk about the fact that a presidential candidate decided to use an ethnic-colored slogan as his primary label.

Nothing screams tribalism and a rabid sense of entitlement like emi lokan. It's my turn!

DonJ , Of late I have taken time to actually do an assessment of the optics as regards the coming elections as it partains to the top 3 candidates and I’ve noticed serious tribal undertones amongst their supporters . Initially I thought maybe this 2023 elections will be different but it seems I was wrong after-all .

As it stands it looks more likely Peter Obi will win majority votes in the 5 southeastern states , along with maybe one or two states in the south south while Atiku of PDP will get majority in some
core northern states and north central as well. PDP’s influence in the south south will also get him votes there as well . Tinubu of APC will most likely win in most southwestern states and also get votes from the northeast as well .

Tribal sentiments will no doubt play a major
role in deciding the eventual winner going by the tribal card already being played by different supporters of the candidates . I may be wrong , but I don’t think we’ve grown past that tribal politics as a people.

As it stands I do not hold the believe that Peter Obi will not win at least 4 states as I opined earlier ( He will certainly win more than that ) . On this note I wish to cancel the bet we had earlier because as a matter of principle I always make it a point of duty not to lose any single kobo on a venture/idea I do not believe in.

I know u may want to ask if I’m OBIdient or not. For now I’m not. If and when campaign starts and Obi rolls out his manifestos and gives reasonable answers as to how he intends to achieve some of those promises , he will have my vote .

However if he doesn’t, he won’t get my vote . But one thing is sure , I’ve seen and read enough to know I won’t vote Tinubu particularly as it pertains to his health

You didn't need to type all this long grammar to tell me you know you've lost the bet. grin grin

I'm just very glad that Obi's support have far surpassed what people thought it would be. They've seen how this man have SINGLEHANDEDLY gained national appeal.

When the movement started, people said Obi can't even win his state, then they said he can't win the east, now they're saying he can only win SE and SS.

Well, let's see but all the same I'm glad you've realized and I'm sure happy with the fact that Peter Obi is now a national phenomenon.

He's not perfect but he's the perfect person for this time. The perfect person would perhaps have been someone who hasn't ever tested Nigerian politics before but then we would have said that having no experience of leadership at all is a dangerous thing in this perilous times.

I wish you well bro.

Sometimes I go back to some of my oldest comments and I'm like yeah! I said that right. cool cool
This is one of those moments.
donjazet:

Seriously what the hell is wrong with you guys?? Like what the hell is REALLY wrong with you guys??

It is a known fact that across all social media platforms, Peter obi has the most organic (non-paid) supporters. The majority of youths support him.

Do you know why? IDEALISM! Every single person knows that Peter obi did not have the ground game for this PDPs national ticket, because he is not one to steal public funds and use as the rest are doing.
What his supporters aimed to do was recreate the national awareness across all platforms, from Whatsapp status to Twitter to Facebook, Instagram etc.. just as exactly was done during the endsars protest.

An organic movement that transforms from the digital space to our reality. You could see me as one individual urging us to go and register to get our PVC.

Peter obi is not a saint but he was certainly the best of the rest. An experienced leader, astute in communication, well rounded in leadership, economically astute and most importantly possessed the frugality desperately needed right now for government officials. Someone that has been in the system but NOT in the system.

CANT YOU SEE? Just look at us, casually laughing away our future, making jest of how our politicians are looting and spreading our common wealth amongst themselves. See us laughing over politicians sharing 5 million naira per head, money we know, they will aim to recoup when they win and that CYCLE OF ENDEMIC CORRUPTION CONTINUES.

We need something to give us hope, we can't just give in to the despair and hopelessness of our country not getting better.

Who knows, if we rally very well, we might just come together and vote en masse for that strong third party and fade away these 2 evil parties. It seems like a pipe dream but we the youths have the numbers to do that. Less than 15 percent of the population voted in the last election. Let's bump that number up to 45% and see the magic that happens.
