My MP for Regina-Wascana said they would need a relative that reside around the province to book a physical appointment at the office and fill a form that contains my details before they take up my case. Any advise on this as I don't have any relative around there?

January 17th applicant, I don tire to dey wait. Eligibility have not even started cry

Hello,

You do NOT need a relative in Regina-Wascana to check on your application for you. You don't even need a relative at all. My school is in the Ontario province but my application has been checked on by the MP office of Montréal multiple times since its inception.

What you need is a friend or relative in Canada - periodt. They will provide their postal code or address, and you'll create an email on their behalf requesting for an update on your application. Bear in mind that you will be writing the email as them, not yourself. MP offices only prioritize requests of members of their constituents.

As an example, if your friend is named "John Doe", the email will be something like,

"Dear Mr/Mrs so and so,

I'm John Doe, a resident of so and so reaching out on behalf of my friend (your name) who has a study permit application that has exceeded the average processing time. My address is so and so and I'll appreciate an enquiry forwarded to IRCC regarding their application status or possible expedition."

Conclusively, be sure to remind your friend to "cc" your email address so the MP office can see the applicant in question. After the initial email, you can begin responding directly to the MP office since the line of communication has been opened. You'll be sent a Use of Representative form and within 10-15 business days, you'll get an assured response from IRCC.

It's not a discouragement to give out facts. Older people rarely get Canadian study permits and it's even worse for those aspiring to undergraduate studies. The approval rate is appalling. You can bank on faith however much you want, but the reality has to be spelt out for those who want the cold facts. Cheers.

Hello,

For the POF ( please others can contribute) its best in a regular account because you will not get a statement of account for it and a statement of account is what canada visa requires.
I recommend pre- liquidating now to start building the account for about six months and you need to apply for fall 2023 as early as Feb 2023.

Your land is good as home ties but also include family.

No application is the same so you have to also do your research and have a very good statement of purpose ( SOP) which is ore like your off line interview where you will answer all the likely questions the visa officer will ask in a letter format

Thanks for your Response @Ibaka

Mehnnnn You've saved me a lot of stress by providing that link that will help me make a course choice for Ms program . I really Appreciate Ibaka.

Talking about the Proof of fund in a fixed Deposit Account . Based on signed agreement between me and the bank, The maturity period will be in February 2023 then it will be Iiquidated . The fixed deposit Account is in my Name and has my Information, it's actually an amount of money that I kept for my Canada Study Journey.

You said something about me liquidating the supposed money in the FD and keeping it for at least 4 months to avoid issues with lump sum . Now my situation is like this , I plan on applying for admission Now →→ for the Fall Entry 2023. Also Later in February next year 2023 the Fixed Deposit Agreement will be complete and Account open for access of the funds , Can I Just go ahead and just use the Account (Statement of Account) since it's in my name instead of moving the funds Around ?

Also ,

Talking about the Home ties , I made mention of me having some landed Properties in my name worth around 8-10m which said I was on the right track. Then you went further to state that I should provide my business too , but the thing is that I just graduated last year , I have no running Business. My assets especially the one in my Fixed Deposit account was gotten after the sale of Family landed Properties then that was when I decided to put the money into a fixed account pending when I need it. I hope you understand sir . So at this Point what would you you advice me to start making Preparations for ? Will I be asked to Provide Evidence of How I got the Proof of funds ?

I know it's a long notes from me , I'm so sorry about that I'm just trying to be explicit. I'll look forward to your Response . Anyone can help in responding too , I'll really Appreciate . It's my first time making an Attempt so I'm trying as much as possible to get the right Information so as to get enlightened .

Thanks Everyone ,

LOL, are you good? The original poster asked for information on his chances with undergraduate studies and they gave him answers that increase his prospect of getting a study permit. Isn't that what this space is for? Would you rather they withhold information that'll help people because you want to exercise your faith?

Your beliefs begin and stop at your own choices/decisions. When others ask for facts about a huge decision like studying in Canada, they want to hear the truth because it helps us all make the right decisions. Besides, I didn't even answer them. I simply called out someone who attacked a guru that responded with a better alternative for someone of OP's age. It is the religious guy you're supposed to be directing this to. The OP in question asked for facts that'd help their application, not faith. So maybe listen to your own advice.

Oh, and faith is very much not reality. It's literally defined as the evidence of things not seen/heard/felt but hoped for. Hope is good to have, but it is an accessory and not the foundation of reality or the key to a successful application. I won't be engaging you further. <3

I don't think you understand me. Older applicants do get approvals, but for Masters, Post Graduate degrees, PhDs and other levels. You will see one or two anomaly undergraduate approvals but it is usually when said applicant is able to properly explain why they are just getting their university education done.

They often rule these type of applications as an older person trying to immigrate so one has to be really lucky or in possession of a stellar application. Instead of going through this amount of scrutnity, it's better to apply for a study level suited to one's age group.

Note: I will add that in comparison to other groups, older people are less likely to receive a study permit though. In 2020/21, over 50% of Nigerian study permits went to people younger than 21. Most over the age 30 applied for Masters, PhDs and PGDs. It was a very rare sighting for an older person to get a study permit with an undergraduate degree.

Hi there,

Haha, I'm not a sir and it's my pleasure. I'm not sure why that MP office is requesting an appointment but perhaps this is peculiar to their region. The average office doesn't require any appointments. Just an email from your friend or family to their MP office will suffice. Everything is often done online so try it and see and how it goes.

Honestly, if we don't have faith we don't need to be doing anything at all because nothing is sure in this life.

I have seen someone who went to through a recruitment process, passed all the interviews, given a letter of appointment, but the letter of appointment was retracted a week after and the process was cancelled. They started the application process all over again, the guy wasn't selected again, but about 6 people who never applied for the job in the organization were selected among the 30 people that were selected eventually. All of them are working currently in the organization.

My point is that our lucks are different. What doesn't work generally might work for some people. Someone just commented up there that he has seen someone who is above 40 and got an approval.

So, people should try their lucks by faith and be ready for the consequences of their actions.

Like me now, I just submitted my application on August 4, 2022 but I still believe my family application will be approved, in sha Allah, before my resumption date on September 8, 2022. That's faith and I'm fully ready for whatever outcome, positive or negative, I get eventually.
