Greetings gurus in the house, I have initiated the payment of my tuition fees however, it's taking too long to process I have from now till month end but I have requested an extension from the school and I have been given the grace of 22nd of September.

However, I want to know if can I start my application process without my receipt but with the evidence of I have initiated my payment and also stating as soon as I get debited I would send my receipt via web form. Thank you as I await your response.

It's not a discouragement to give out facts. Older people rarely get Canadian study permits and it's even worse for those aspiring to undergraduate studies. The approval rate is appalling. You can bank on faith however much you want, but the reality has to be spelt out for those who want the cold facts. Cheers.

Older people? In here I’ve seen 41 years, 47years and even 50.

40s and 50s have been getting approvals...that older applicants don't get approved is fallacy..them dey collect approval hot hot

The response tire me oh... Older as in? Be like the guy dey 20 if he sees 37 as really old... They get approvals because they are even regarded as more responsible. Is it easy to still want to study at that age?.

I don't think you understand me. Older applicants do get approvals, but for Masters, Post Graduate degrees, PhDs and other levels. You will see one or two anomaly undergraduate approvals but it is usually when said applicant is able to properly explain why they are just getting their university education done.

They often rule these type of applications as an older person trying to immigrate so one has to be really lucky or in possession of a stellar application. Instead of going through this amount of scrutnity, it's better to apply for a study level suited to one's age group.

Note: I will add that in comparison to other groups, older people are less likely to receive a study permit though. In 2020/21, over 50% of Nigerian study permits went to people younger than 21. Most over the age 30 applied for Masters, PhDs and PGDs. It was a very rare sighting for an older person to get a study permit with an undergraduate degree.

Wht if the person has been doing business after Secondary school and never had an Undergraduate studies? Will the person still do Graduate studies? Because of age?

I think that’s a solid reason but you must prove it beyond all reasonable doubt and have strong home ties.

Hi there,

Haha, I'm not a sir and it's my pleasure. I'm not sure why that MP office is requesting an appointment but perhaps this is peculiar to their region. The average office doesn't require any appointments. Just an email from your friend or family to their MP office will suffice. Everything is often done online so try it and see and how it goes.

Haha, sorry about that. Let me work it out and see how it goes. Many thanks

Thanks for your reply, but bro how will bank know the payment ID. Since I didn't input it in the online form

You're to attach your flywire invoice, university degree certificate, admission letter and a signed letter of instruction to debit your account at the end while filling for the form A.

The bank will work with the information on the flywire invoice so don't stress.

Disbursement takes about 30 - 40 days so you have to be really patient and ask the bank for feedback once in a while to ginger them.

Good luck.

Good evening everyone.

Please is it true that Nigerian banks do not process payment with Form A for a diploma course?

I've been on form A processing for over a month now but a bank staff just told me it won't fly because it's a diploma. That they only process bachelor's and master's degrees.

Check my initial response. I said that there are anomaly cases of people who have stellar applications or strong ties to their home country. It doesn't change the fact that majority of older applicants who go for undergraduate degrees don't receive a study permit. Omitting that major fact is misleading.

Not true. Form A is for invisible payments (payments for services), it could be school fees, medical fees, dues/remittances etc. You just need the right documents to process one which I'm sure you have hence the reason you submitted your request.

The challenge is as a result of FX unavailability from CBN to process these requests considering the recent surge in invisible payments and the devaluation of the Naira.

Banks will treat on first come first serve, who you know and how urgent it is.

Keep disturbing them and ensure your account is always funded for the debit so they don't get to your turn and see that you've withdrawn your funds - if that happens you will have to reapply and wait for another 40days.

Good luck.
