NGVolume: The problem with educated Nigerians is they feel they represent Nigeria. You will be shocked how many homes are not on social media and do not have graduates!!! How many graduates do you think we produce a year? Our total university student population is 1.8 assuming a quarter of that graduate every year (4 year course) we are only producing 450K graduates every year, yet our population grows by 5 million every year. Therefore every year only 10% of the incremental population becomes a graduate. Assuming an average family of 5, the best the average graduate per family can be is 50%. considering there will be families where more than 1 or all the members are graduates, this will skew the actual data to more like 25% or less. By the way as an aside, in the 1980s when we had a population of 65m, we were only producing 20,000 graduates a year....that was why it was easier to fund universities. 1 Like |
