2015/2019 Buhari would defeat any northerner even at his polling unit...the thing you should ask yourself now is can Tinubu or Obi do the same...its a big NO, Atiku has always been second in the north, and Buhari knows no Fulani/Hausa man would leave his own under any party to vote for a Yoruba or an igbo man that's why he is distancing himself from Tinubu and saying he won't support any candidate.

Atiku is not stressing himself bout wike or anyone because he knows even with more APC governors in the north he's getting more than 80% and maybe 40% in the south which would see him cruise to Victory.

Remember Atiku lost to Buhari in an election as the incumbent with only 2mill votes. Tinubu and Obi na beans
Abubarka Rimi lost north to Obasanjo in 1999. Ahmed Lawan lost northern deligates votes to Tinubu. What transpired in this two scenario can still repeat itself.

The Northern political class did the calculations well before the party primaries:

Tinubu and Obi shall divide the votes of the south.
1) Abubakar Atiku was first made to buy PDP presidential ticket.
2) instead of Osinbajo, they dashed APC presidential ticket to old and sickly Tinubu who cannot win presidential election.
The north presents Atiku as successor to President Buhari in 2023.

Lol. My first question is what was his sample size and sample spread. If you support BAT, most people around you support BAT and same goes for other candidates. If you do a survey, it will seems everyone is supporting your candidate.

I don't take polls or survey in Nigeria as anything until someone is able to have a good sample size of over 5 million with a spread covering every state

You forgot that APC won 4 out of 6 zones. Also, 2019 situation is far different from now because of several factors. One of them is the fact that three strong candidates are on the race.

One thing I know is that the upcoming election is the least predictable presidential election in recent history.

Let the campaign start, is when you will know that Atiku is light weight politician in the north. He is only using PDP structure to be like hero. Don't compare Atiku with buhari, they are far different. How many votes did Atiku got when he contested under AC in 2011?
the Nigeria political system of today is different from the past. APC bad governance has made Atiku great in today's polity and believe me, he is more appealing nationally than other contestants.

Atiku wins this election.

Wike can't cause any problem but he must work with him he knows.

North shall win because of Tinubu's refusal of microzoning in the south

Tinubu said it's his turn, and refused warnings from prominent Yorubas to admit that it's truly the turm of the SE to produce a successor to President Buhari.
Tinubu asked north to adhere to zoning to enable south to produce a successor to President Buhari. So, for south to produce a successor to President Buhari, Tinubu needs to collapse his structures and join them to Peter Obi's Labour party, for a southerner to produce a successor to President Buhari.

The southwest should know that they have a better chance of being integrated into the Government of Obi than in that of Atiku considering what will befall them in this election.

Obi will be good in SS, SE, and struggle have a good showing in the middle belt and even SW.

Atiku will be good in the north because they will abandon emilokan. He will also be good in the middle belt.

Tinubu can only boast of the SW as it is and we all know winning only the southwest that will still give the likes of OBi 25% can't win him the presidency.

You called the below Yoruba enlightened ones but we that are not supporting Obi are not enlightened right? You're very sick man

There are very enlightened Yoruba people who know that Tinubu can't give them the president and will either choose Atiku or Obi conveniently.

That was in 2019 when PDP was strong with Peter Obi and Kwankwaso in the party. Now PO and kwankwaso are candidates pulling millions of votes away from PDP

Are you a kid or are you just naive, why compare 1999 elections to 2023, the sentiments and factors in elections this days are way different... and for the Ahmed Lawan part, everyone knows party primaries are only based on who gives more money to the delegates

But the real elections na masses dey decide, both online and offline, both urban and rural and both educated and illiterates

I wonder how many Nigerians reason. So Elections winning in Nigeria depends just on NE & NW alone? If so, why did Buhari "Olule" for 3 times despite cult-like followers in the North that he has to partner with the South to win the fourth time. Every aspirant needs at least 25% in every state.

On what basis will he get 40% in d core North esp NW? Just think about it. Dont forget Buhari won't support him.
As for comparing Obi's south win with Atiku's North win, don't forget NW alone can almost swallow both SE & SS- go check the numbers

mrvitalis:
Everyone one knows atiku has core north ...I'm just praying tinubu is strong enough to water down the margin ...and with no more manual accreditation the gap won't be too much

Atiku takes north east n north west ...

Obi takes south south and south east ....

Peter obi and atiku who ever performs well in south west and north central the most wins it for me

Honestly I don't see where tinubu would get the numbers ... honestly I don't ...let him at least sha get 40% in the core north to water it down

He doesn't need to.

You don't even have to win any state to be declared winner.

The requirement is highest number of votes and 25% votes in 2/3rd of the states.
