PRESS RELEASE Clarification on Electronic Transmission of Election Result NEWS2023: INEC clears air on abandoning electronic transmission of result for manual process The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports that it would adopt a manual collation of results during the 2023 general elections. Reports had emerged that INEC had abandoned the electronic transmission of results and reverted to the manual process ahead of the 2023 election. However, INEC, in a statement by its National Commissioner and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, on Sunday, said the report was false. The statement read in part, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) attention has been drawn to a misunderstanding arising from a recent short interview granted to a national newspaper on the procedure for result management during elections. “Some have interpreted the explanation on result management procedure to mean that the Commission has jettisoned the electronic transmission of result and reverted to the manual process. This is not correct. “For clarity, the process for result transmission remains the same as in recent Governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States. “There will be no change in all future elections, including the 2023 general elections.” https://twitter.com/inecnigeria/status/1561377631106486273 1 Like

If vote buying didn't work in osun, I wonder how it will work in general election for someone that relies on it, this is a disgrace for apc it is obvious they are fiding it difficult in osun which is the originated state of their presidential candidate, And for Buhari to use efcc and other law enforcement agencies, its obvious this is what he will do in the general election by staying neutral, apc not having momentum in osun election speaks volume. If apc lost in osun have will sendt signals to sanwo olu and other non performing governors to sit up and perform because they still have a window of 7months to do something before the elections instead of them believing in buying voters, all I want is a good governance in naija. 1 Like |
