Blessedmercy8: Aunty okochi means drought/harmattan The dried cocoyam which is the major ingredient is harvested and dried during the harmattan season due to the high intensity of the sun and extreme low humidity. It is usually eaten during the rainy season as little or nothing remains during the dry season which is another time for the preparation of the dried cocoyam, except grandma is just saving some for you guys till that time. Mehn, I am already craving for it especially the type with enough palm oil, oil bean fruit (ukpaka/ugba), plenty pepper and onion. 3 Likes |
