I'm sure Basco will appreciate any and every constructive criticism, but saying his channel is not doing well is like an attack on his hard work.

Some Nigerian TV channels have used his clips so his videos are definitely getting noticed.

thank you, I said same thing a while back, his primary role are interceptions, tackles etc, Those offensive duties are secondary. but I'm not in support of ur attack on the good Joe

The game is changing. Build up plays is becoming vital. So players that can contribute to that is key. Thinking just interceptions and tackles is fading. That is why Guardiola bought Rodri and Arteta but Partey.

I just pray his performance this season will be a stepping stone for Kelechi. The talent is there, he just needs to work hard more.

Call me whatever you want, I really wish to have Ndidi, Iwobi and Nwakali manning our Midfield.

But till then, Sultan, Onyedika and the likes should be invited for next friendlies.

@bolded... Oh, so you too see the tactical possibilities. Very good. grin

Good passing technique is a fundamental aspect of playmaking.
It is very clear that Ndidi is not a playmaker. He is a destroyer.

You talk about high pressing, questioning Ndidi's ability to cope. Do you believe Ndidi lacks the composure to cope with high press, have you seen situations like that? if you have, you can cite such.

What aspects of Ndidi's movements needs improvements, because a player's movement will depends on the team's phases of play.

Watch these clips of Casemiro (From 4:00) and Fernandinho. You will see that these guys are as gifted as creative midfielders in ball play and passes.

Samson Tijani and Raphael Onyedika. Both very good candidates to step up to the plate in the near future as Ndidi's Upgrade in the CDM role.

TheGoodJoe:

Ndidi has the work rate but he needs to develop his passing. A deep playing pivot is becoming key if you must play possession football.

You need a deep player that can combine with the defenders to play out of the back. I am seeing potential in Samson Tijani for that role. Ndidi might have to fall to defence but his passing might still prove a liability.

Make una leave Nwakali to concentrate on his club football. He should forget about the national team for now until he upgrades from his segunda status.

Even Jamilu Collins was getting NT invites while at Paderborn in Bundesliga 2.

Sadiq got invited for the Afcon from the segunda.

This take is very funny. It also means we should not consider Semi Ajayi and Troost Ekong till both upgrade from the English 2nd tier.

Make una quit this hypocrisy abeg.

Watch the passing ability of Kalvin Phillips and you will understand why Guardiola insisted on getting him. If Ndidi is to play with the big boys, he must transform into more than a destroyer.

He has the ability. He just needs to change his mentality to a passer and see his game improve by miles. Open for passes. That is search for space where his teammates can find him. Then pass to players in space. Study Xavi and Paul Scholes over and over again. The Defensive midfield role is changing.

TheGoodJoe:

What is more interesting? You people will be the first to complain about our local scene not growing and first to attack someone doing his best to help push our local football.

BascoVanVeli is beyond criticism. Yes I will repeat it. He is beyond criticism. He is doing a magnificent job. It is tedious, dedicated, committed.

To you the views are not high but to those young men out there, he is creating that little window for them to grow.

I am shocked you can even think of making mockery, instead of showing appreciation.

If not him, I would have been oblivious to a lot of things happening in our local scene.

BascoVanVeli, do not let such talk get to you. Neyo was booed off stage at the Apollo and he ended up a phenom.

Eminem's mixtape was thrown in the garbage by a producer because he felt he was thrash. He became one of the best selling musicians of all time.

Kanye West was rejected by Capital records and wanted only his beats. He became a multiple Grammy award winner.

Do not let anyone deceive you. You are a pride to our football.

My Wife answers my phone call with a loud ALLLL RRRIIGHT.

TheGoodJoe, well said as always. Beautifully put.

I started following BascoVanVeli's channel when it was at under 2K subscribers. Seeing how it has risen to over 38k subscribers within less than 2 yrs and with little to almost no publicity is outstanding.

One of my Blood relations is a Huge Real Madrid fan and also a follower of Nigerian football and he references BascoVanVeli's channel as his plug for anything Local football or Women's football.

I told him that the owner of that channel is with me on NL and he was like "Wow, he's doing a fantastic job". This was last year.

Now, this year.. When I was on a big football group, Many folks there recognised me by my NL name but they also recognised another for NPFL news but couldn't recollect his name. I told them the guy is "BascoVanVeli" but I call him Marvellous BascoVanVeli because he is too awesome. Yep, I said that to them.

I also added that he is the King of anything and everything NPFL and Local football news plus he touches other aspects of football relating to anything Nigerian.

I even shared his YT channel/Links with them and they were wowed. A few already knew the channel but were more impressed to see it is from a moniker also on the same NL where they found me.

One also mimicked his trademark, "Alllriiiiggghhhhttt" and we all laughed and agreed Basco is doing such a great job especially on the local front.

So you see, BascoVanVeli is making waves and his channel will keep making waves. Dude is doing such a tremendous job and IT IS ONLY AN IDIOT WHO WOULD DARE MAKE FUN OF WHAT HE DOES or Say he is just catching cruise. Rubbish!! He is not! He is just being a silly fat idiot.

So my man, Marvellous BascoVanVeli. Shine on.

You and I know it is the Fact that The Landlord has been torturing that fat tenant lately, that's why dude gotta vent elsewhere. grin

Keep being Marvellous, Man. Ignore the haters. Besides, the more they hate, the more folks know about you and your works.

Again... shine on cool

There is nothing personal bruv.

What you said is highly hypocritical and doesn't make sense.

How can we ignore a lad in 2nd tier Spain who's doing very very okay, and in a position we need more heads, when we have also been inviting players from the same 2nd tier Spain and players in other 2nd tier leagues across Europe? Could you not find another cogent point to make?

Nwakali is doing well and no one is even talking about an invite just yet. The buzz is about him doing so well and dropping top performances in his first two games for his new side in the 22/23 season but you saying he cannot get a call until he upgrades from the La Liga Smartbank is PURE HYPOCRISY. Finito.

there is no such thing as a "playmaking defensive midfielder" grin grin grin

DM is DM...

even your FC Barcelona had Iniesta, Xavi and Busquets as the DM..

current Manchester United has Erikson, Fernandez and McTominay or Fred or Casimero as the DM...

what you should say is that Ndidi should try to be more offensive but if Ndidi is more offensive then who will protect the midfield shocked shocked shocked

What he meant to say is Ballplaying DM.

We have DM varieties. We have Destroyer DMs/Ball winning DMs and we have Ball-playing DMs. We have those who have a mix of both qualities.

Ndidi is a Destroyer DM and TheGoodJoe is saying his underpar abilities on the ball remains a bane which is true. Something I have overanalysed here before.

Ndidi of today is a far cry from peak Ndidi of 20/21. That season saw an improved version of Ndidi showing even encouraging signs in his normally average/underpar ball playing and passing verticality but since then, it has been downhill.

So my man, DM is not DM. DM pass DM.

Samson Tijani is surely a talent to watch out for in the near future at CDM. He's a mix of ballplaying and ball winning which makes him very exciting. Can't wait to see him back from injury.

As for Raphael... I hope you get to see games of him soon enough. Lad is already better than Ndidi right now on the ball.

Someone shared an image of rankings of DMs and Ndidi was #2 despite the fact that he was out due injuries which means that without those injuries Ndidi will be #1..

So according to stats Ndidi is in the top two best DMs in the world and without injuries Ndidi is the best DM in the world right now.

You guys saw the stats and got intimidated and started making up useless and senseless titles for DMs such as destroyer , ball playing DM and other nonsense titles grin grin

Loooolll... now you are desperately twisting facts.

That was rankings for "Most Tackles alone" made in European top 5 leagues since the 17/18 season, my good man. I have the rankings myself.

Tackles alone don't make one a well rounded DM. It is just one of the defensive actions a DM exudes.

Read... it says MOST TACKLES MADE NOT Best DMs in Europe.

Finally,

@bolded... this is pure rubbish. I have always analysed Ndidi and even defended his qualities overtime but I have also come to accept with time and after enough and satisfied observation stretching 5-6 seasons that Ndidi has really got a ball-playing flaw which impedes his evolution into an elite well rounded CDM.

And my analyses and use of those words, "Ball playing", "Destroyer DM" and much more have since dropped and been used here and on twitter before Squawka released those tackles rankings.

So abeg... find something more cogent to say.

Rodri does the playmaker work even more than Fernandinho.
