You need a deep player that can combine with the defenders to play out of the back. I am seeing potential in Samson Tijani for that role. Ndidi might have to fall to defence but his passing might still prove a liability.

We have DM varieties. We have Destroyer DMs/Ball winning DMs and we have Ball-playing DMs. We have those who have a mix of both qualities.

Ndidi is a Destroyer DM and TheGoodJoe is saying his underpar abilities on the ball remains a bane which is true. Something I have overanalysed here before.

Ndidi of today is a far cry from peak Ndidi of 20/21. That season saw an improved version of Ndidi showing even encouraging signs in his normally average/underpar ball playing and passing verticality but since then, it has been downhill.
