Dear Gurus,

Please concerning GICs, must the payment for GIC reflect in my SOA that i am submitting for POF?

I am asking because im thinking of obtaining a GIC but the fund is not in my account.

I am not 100% certain about study permit visas,
but on the Express Entry pathway, I have read from people who submitted outside Nigeria, probably because they were on holiday or something else.
I hope someone with a better information help you.
Congratulations, and All the best!

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has created an e-pamphlet and information webpage for new international students who are arriving for the Fall 2022 intake.

Click the links below to know more about entry requirements, documents to bring, and what to expect at the border:

It is acceptable. It doesn’t have to come from the same account as the POF.

Application submitted july 4,biometric done July 8 no invitation yet for medical and my agent asked me to keep waiting that I should not do upfront, pls what’s your take on this ? It’s almost 2months already

Is your agent suppose to pay for your medicals? I mean does the fee you paid cover your medicals? If yes, that’s the reason they want you to keep waiting for a medical request. My guess is, they’re hoping you get a denial, that way they won’t have to pay for it. If you can afford it, do an upfront medical exam. I’m currently in the same boat and I plan to get an upfront medicals done soon.

The new portal does not influence the outcome of the application, and I believe there’s no significant difference in processing time between them. I prefer the GCkey account because it gives you more space to upload documents as it has a bigger file limit.
Since you have already applied with the GCKey, you don’t need the new portal. However, @Johnstan has posted the link.

If your letter of acceptance has 3 starting date, they won’t defer your admission, instead they’ll ask you to reapply again. I know this because it happened to me and I had to reapply but luckily, I got another admission within a week. You can try reaching out to them for a deferral, I hope yours will be different from mine. Good luck.

Is it same school as his?

Congratulations to you
Lol.

First, I used an immigration lawyer for the whole process (from admission to the visa process itself).
But this platform helped me understand a lot I didn’t know before.

Application May 15
Biometric. May 17

Medical request 6th of July

Approved August 2nd

Documents submitted:

All data forms

SOP (written by the lawyer)

Receipt of school part payment (10,000 CAD)

Documents of my land worth (1m)

Statement of account (22,000 USD)

The above are the documents I submitted.

I’m about working on my wife and 2 months old son visa now. That’s why I need the student permit and I need to get into Canada to get it at the point of entry.

Maybe the Lord help all of us get our visas approved.

It seems you did not submit the biometric slip. Hence, the need to pay for transmission. If you have lost the slip and live in Abuja. Go there, and they will sort it out.
A coloured copy of the bank transfer is acceptable.

I don't live in Abuja. However I'm trying to see if I can pay it at the bank, scan the receipt and send it to DHL for them to add to my envelope. I spoke to their office yesterday. Are you saying a colored copy of whatever in given at the bank for payment will suffice? Or a colored copy of a transfer done through my Gtbank mobile app?

I got denied after waiting for six months, this is really frustrating, first time applicant. Although i had previously applied for u.s but was also denied. Please how can i order for my gcms notes to know the main concern of the v.o. I tried checking online though, what am seeing is that i must be a Canadian citizen or a resident in Canada for me to apply or a resident can apply on my behalf. Play the gurus in the house should assist, @makano i sent you a mail please respond. Any suggestions from anybody would be highly appreciated

Sorry to hear about your refusal. Looks like the application was not well put together. You can order your gcms notes via 3rd party sites(you don’t have to be in Canada, be a PR or citizen). Just type ‘order GCMS notes’ into google and it will give you many options to choose from. You can share the documents you submitted for the application to receive some advice before you GCMS note arrives.

Cheers

Hi there,

There’s no rule that states that the GIC must reflect in your account, but please note that it’s still important to submit a solid statement of account from you or your sponsor in addition to the GIC.

Cheers
