Why Is No One Talking About This In Nigeria by Tunjibalogun: 6:50am On Aug 24, 2022 |
I mean families are being separated daily due to economic migration from Nigeria to overseas because the country isn't working. They're many lonely wives separated from their husbands who work abroad Brothers are separated from their brothers and sisters because they've gone to seek for greener pastures Some parents haven't seen their children for years because they've gone for greener pastures You don't see Americans, British or Dutch people separating from their families just to work in Africa. Why is everything the opposite for Africans. Funny a thing the black Africans count it as an achievement to migrate to a white man's country and abandoning his own root to rot away. Was the black man created on a sunny day? Help me solve this puzzle 428 Likes 27 Shares |

This is a sad reality honestly. Reality hit me recently when my sister and her family moved to the UK, I was happy for her and at the same time feel sad how the hardship in the country made people depart from their loved ones and the worst is you aren’t sure if you will ever be able to see each other again but can only communicate on phone. Studying outside Nigeria myself I knew how it was difficult for me being apart from my family and loved ones, imagine relocating to another country permanently with no family, friends etc. It scares me to think my parents might never see their grand children if I relocate, with the insecurity in Nigeria there is high probability Nigerians in diaspora might avoid Nigeria. The worst of it all is that people think it’s an achievement to depart from family and be hustling in a white man’s land. 463 Likes 35 Shares |

Petyprincess:That is actually what long suffering causes that people are now meant to choose survival over family closeness and love. It is what it is. Grossly pathetic 145 Likes 11 Shares |

Funny a thing the black Africans count it as an achievement to migrate to a white man's country and abandoning his own root to rot away.I gave up on this country when people starts giving testimonials in church on how they've just gotten permanent residence abroad, they actually made a big ceremony about this. That says alot about the terrific situation the masses are facing. So it won't be surprising when people shun their emotions and choose the path that support their dream life. 163 Likes 15 Shares |

Tunjibalogun: That is the sad reality of our day. Many families even end up falling apart after migration. The fear, anxiety, confusion, anger, emotional trauma are better imagined than experienced. A parent abandoned their 2 years old son and came back after 13 years. The conversation between them was embarrassing and heart breaking. Will the family separations stop? No. Is it worthwhile? Many only realize after the damage has been done. Our greatest needs are for things that money cannot buy—namely, love, emotional security, and family unity. 77 Likes 7 Shares |

There are Americans, dutch ,indians, chinese etc all over the world who don't go to their home countries regularly. I once stayed in the guest house of a client in port harcourt and met a mexican man there. He has not been to Mexico in 7 years and has even been kidnapped once in Nigeria. But he no go back because he is earning good as an expat here. So whats the big deal if Nigerians do same What is the point of seeing your families or wife when una dey suffer or facing uncertain future ehn A man who can’t provide for his family wont have a family for long. Less than 5% of Nigerians are outside Nigeria too 160 Likes 14 Shares |

Petyprincess: Believe me, that scares me a lot. It really scares me more to think about this upcoming 2023 general elections, the number of people that will likely have to leave this country will be massive if we don't get it right. The good thing is that we have a good option to get it right. Peter Obi seems to be the best choice if we don't want mass exodus from this country. 112 Likes 8 Shares |

tensazangetsu20:I understand you perfectly but seems you don't the angle I'm coming from too. I'm not saying they shouldn't hustle. I'm only bringing out the very pathetic situation of some African families who have to sacrifice love, family unity and socialisation for works overseas which ordinarily should have been in their home country 43 Likes 4 Shares |

ednut1:Lol, you only saw one Mexican man. What about the numerous job seeking Nigerians in Dubai? Those who escaped to do masters in UK and other places in Europe and acquiring unuseful degrees just to be able to stay back. The black man even gives a testimony like it is a miracle when he relocates. Africa is doomed 85 Likes 7 Shares |

Tunjibalogun: I understand where you're coming from, but this situation is inevitable. Check it very well, the people that are "doing well" will not think of relocating abroad permanently to the extent of forgetting their home country. But see the "poor" Nigerians? To them, if they leave Naija, there is nothing left to call home. It's like how the Irish and Chinese migrated to the USA in the mid-1800s to mid-early 1900s. Many of these immigrants' children are now Americans and no longer care about their "original" countries anymore. 28 Likes 1 Share |

Tunjibalogun:i was working at a big 4 audit firm in Nigeria. Went to Canada and worked for the same company. Along with many people i know. Currently work in an international bank lol. On a monthly basis i am saving times 3 of the net salary i got in Nigeria. Next year i will qualify for citizenship in Canada. I can still come back to Nigeria to take finance manager or CFO jobs paying over 2m a month. So tell me was i not wise to relocate If Nigeria burns or goes to war lets say i move back. Canada will come rescue me. If i fall ill i wont need gofund me or donations with my Canada passport lol. 136 Likes 12 Shares |

The part that i can not understand are the middle class set that are gainfully employed here in Nigeria earning 500k and above and those set too in the name of japa resigned to go and enroll in uk for masters program with all the challenges. for me my salary is not much but i can manage to take of my money and still do one or two things with the left over. For now the bitter truth is that the cost of living is rising globally agreed Nigeria govt mismanagement might have escalated the sufferings of average Nigeria but then look well before you jappa as a middle class . if nothing is working for you no work and no business I can understand if you choose to give another country a trial. but resigning and moving to another country on a students visa is a no no for me. 38 Likes 2 Shares |

ednut1:You still write like a black slave, what's all Canada this or that. Qualifying next year even for Canadian citizenship means nothing. It can only excite a dumb, poor and corpse washing black monkey like u who cowardly fled his homeland to wash corpse in a foreign land. I can't particularly see what should make you proud. Reason it yourself, how can u be proud of what another humans(the Whites) whom God also made u equal with them. You're a slave and a slave takes delight in his slavery. Continue washing corpse, it's well with your soul black monkey, I do hope the Whites do throw some banana to u on the floor to lick and get excited as the slave monkey that you are. 14 Likes 5 Shares |
