Abuja was Murtala's vision not IBB. Cunny man who annulled a free and fair election and dubiously left Abacha behind to take over.

But IBB brought it into fruition.

Construction started under Obasanjo and continued until IBB moved there. IBB moving there doesn't make it his vision.

So, Tinubu should use Lagos money to build Iragbiji. You need mental examination.

Dunce, but he used Lagos money to enrich himself and his family including cronies?

ibb handed over to a civilian government.

IBB handed over to an interim government. Headed by a civilian with a military ruling council and military governors. More like a diarchy, the more dominant military simply shoved Shonekan aside. That was it. IBB knew exactly what he was doing.

True, but that doesn't make Abuja his vision.

IT WASN'T IBB'S VISION BUT INDEED HIS EFFORT. AND I MUST SAY HE REALLY TRIED. NOT ONLY WITH ABUJA BUT WITH HOME STATE,NIGER STATE. IT'S A WISE SAYING. "CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME"

HAVE YOU BEEN TO OBASANJO'S OGUN STATE?

The failure of civilian presidents especially this present irresponsible and clueless Buhari regime has made the likes of Abacha, IBB of the military era look like saints.

The tangible and signature projects they built still outshine whatever the present civilian presidents have done so far. The military built Lagos, and still went to a virgin land in Abuja and turned it into a city.

One wonders if military should not be encouraged to come back

Very naive comment. The Military built Lagos? Lagos was there before Nigeria was created. The Military built what they needed to operate in Lagos. The rest was built either by the western region or Lagos state government.

We should be grateful to IBB for his vision of Abuja. Abuja would have been like Ajaokuta if not for him- SDP’s

We should be interested in what we have learnt from the intersection of IBB political and leadership philosophy in power.

IBB left power 30 years ago, but we are here still discussing about him, this is credit to his legacy.

IBB was a youth when he took over power, and all the wonderful things he achieved, were done while he was a youth, so that breaks the myth that you must be old and tired before you can make sense in Nigerian politics.

We are not just celebrating IBB because of the physical structures he was able to erect or for giving us a brand new federal capital territory, for if he had not done that, Abuja would have been like the Ajaokuta project.

Whatever virtues and vices IBB had while in power, the question is what have we learnt from them?

Whatever he achieved or failed to achieve should not be an excuse for us to have a government worse than the one he ran.

Our duty is to consolidate where he got it right and learn lessons where he got it wrong.
That is one lesson I have learnt as a leader, I will never make the mistakes made by an earlier leader, and I will never spoil whatever they got right.

Let us not dwell on lamentations and cry over spilt milk, any challenge we meet in Nigeria as Nigerians, that is the challenge for the age.

As a leader, whatever challenge I meet, is the challenge I have been sent to address.

What are you saying must he be given special attention for making Abuja good? Is what he is suppose to do is not a big deal brotherly. Stop given accolade to our use of tax money to develop Abuja is not his private money though.

"we should grateful to IBB" for what exactly? for freeing corrupt politicians from prison?

for taking IMF loan despite all the advice giving to him?

for failing to transition to civil rule.

IBB and all the other coup plotters should be apologizing to Nigerians for tempering with our democracy.

Which western govt? Western govt that had Ibadan as capital, why is Ibadan not like Lagos?

Which of the bridges and flyover in Lagos was built by Western govt? I can comfortably name those built by Military govt

But you accord Lagos development to Tinubu despite being a former capital built and developed by federal govt according to master plan.

You claim Tinubu raised and picked Governors after him that have improved Lagos, but just as you mentioned above, any fool could be a Governor in Lagos and ppl cheer him for working.

Take him to Osun and see him fail. Eg aregbesola

Laugh wan kee me. Aregbe opon imo? Which achievement?

So you know logic of revenue but you ppl are comparing Lagos and Anambra without recourse to the two states revenue/IGR?

Do the percentage IGR: achievements by Anambra and Lagos and see that Lagos Governors are just loafing around.

You wan compare Obi with Aregberascal that was owing Osun civil servants till he left?

Abuja still has no much difference to ajaokuta anyways.

Very boring

Lifeless

Unnecessarily expensive for the average Nigerian.

Zero jobs. The available jobs are mostly MDA's which don't even advertise recruitment because you have to know someone in high places to get employed . Imagine telling a job seeker to bring recommendation letter from a senator or emir before his/her CV can be put into consideration. That's sickening if you ask me.

Same FCT there are places where people still use leaves to cover their unclothedness. Most places even in Abuja city are villages.

So why not go to ajaokuta, be self employed and enjoy a cheaper cost of living.

Don't let your emotions override your sense of reasoning. He made a valid points and no matter what, IBB bring more infrastructure development than any other President in the history of this Nation.
