Many people, especially Yorubas have been wondering why most Igbo youths dislike Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


Let me tell you the truth, Igbo's dislike for Bola Tinubu has nothing to do with him being a Yoruba man, it rather has more to do with Bola Tinubu's personality and political lifestyle or will I say political adventure.


Don't let history twisters deceive you, majority of Igbo youths loved and believed so much in Chief Awolowo more than they even cherished Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe who happened to be an Igbo man. That was the reason why a group of young Igbo officers decided to take it upon themselves to carry out the first Nigerian military coup of 1966 just to help Awolowo in his political travail at that time, even though they allowed ethnic sentiments to derail their original mission during the coup execution.



One thing about Igbo youths is that if they believe in you, they will fight and defend you till death. This can be seen in how they stood solidly behind Ojukwu, stood behind Goodluck Jonathan even after defeat, stood solidly behind Gabon President, stood behind Donald Trump, stood behind Nnamdi Kanu even in jail. Igbos are diehard supporters once they believe in you. They stood solidly and fought for Atiku Abubakar when they believed in Atiku but left when they discovered Atiku was rather becoming over ambitious and not wanting to reciprocate the love Igbos gave to him when Southeast needed his support the most.

Igbos cherished Chief Awolowo more than Nnamdi Azikiwe before the civil war. The dislike or let me say the disapproval Igbos had for Awolowo only came about after the end of Nigeria's civil war due to the infamous role Awolowo played in the starvation policy that forced the war to end in favor of Nigeria. Before the war, Igbo youths preferred Awolowo to Azikiwe. You may never believe this cos you have been told so many lies in the past by enemies of the Igbos who love to twist facts but you can read the book written by a Yoruba army officer who was among the original coup plotters which he titled "Why We Struck" to learn the truth about the January 1966 coup.



Now back to why Igbos dislike Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


Igbo's don't hate Tinubu because he is a Yoruba man like many tribalist make it look, rather majority of Igbo youths dislike Tinubu's personality for many reasons below:


1.) Godfatherism: Igbos hate godfatherism. When Rochas Okorocha tried to become that in Imo, Imo people stood their ground and fought him to finish.

Uba family wantet to become that in Anambra, Anambra people fought them and defeated them.


Orji Uzo Kalu tried to become a godfather in Abia, Abia people fought against it.


Late Arthur Nzeribe tried to do that in Imo, Imo people in conjunction with Governor Achike Udenwa fought him and retired him even from Senate from where he went into oblivion till he died.


2.) Brazing Corruption: Igbos aren't Saints no doubt, but corrupt leaders or politicians don't last long in Igbo land. Some of the corrupt Igbo politicians still waxing big today are being supported by Hausa-Fulani controlled federal government to destabilize Igbo land and paint Igbos black. Without corrupt Nigerian federal government and its corrupt electoral body and decayed judicial system, all corrupt and failed Igbo politicians like Rochas, Kalu, Ikpeazu, Uzodinma, Theodore Orji, etc would have gone into oblivion since.


3.) Tribalism in leadership and politics: this is the number one reason Igbos refused to support Muhammadu Buhari even when he picked Igbo politicians as running mates.


Osinbajo is not a Saint just like most politicians but he is a detribalized man and that's why many Igbos still cherish and support him. Same applies to Olusegun Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar, Ibrahim Babangida, etc.


But you see Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his ill mannered wife called Remi Tinubu, they are tribalists and do not deserve to taste any other leadership position beyond the one they forced themselves in Lagos.



4.) Tinubu's Role In Imposing Buhari On Nigeria

Igbos dislike for Tinubu even became worst after Tinubu's infamous role in making Buhari emerge as President.


Worst of it is Tinubu's deceptive praises for failed Buhari government just to deceive Buhari and the North into helping to rig him in as Buhari's successor.


Tinubu will see blue and call it yellow under Buhari just to defend Buhari's failure in exchange for rigging him in as Buhari's successor.



5.) Tinubu's Role In Bringing Down Goodluck's Government!

Ojota Lagos protest turned carnival is still fresh in our hearts. The lies and propaganda they told against Goodluck just to bring down his government can never be forgiven.



Same reason Sowore, Rotimi Amaechi, Oshiomole and co will never get Igbo youth's support in their future political endeavor in Nigeria.

In 1993 Presidential election, we had two major candidates and their running mates.



1.) MKO Abiola with Kingibe

2.) Tofa with Sylvester Ugo from Imo


Did you know that Abiola won Anambra State with good margin despite the fact that an Igbo man was a running mate to Abiola's contender?



In 1999 Presidential election, Igbos massively voted for Olusegun Obasanjo under PDP despite the fact that Odimegwu Ojukwu a respected Igbo leader was contesting same post.



in 2003 Presidential election, Igbos again voted massively for Olusegun Obasanjo a Yoruba man leaving Igbo contestants.




So before they tell you how Igbos hate to support Yorubas in politics, please remind them of the above elections.
