*STOCK SIGNALS FOR 29 AUG 2022 (NIGERIA PLUS GLOBAL PICKS) .*
Nigeria All Share Index will likely continue in range trading with only small price movement. Sentiment is telling us that the small up move will still be maintained expecially with oil price rising this morning (Saudis planning how to use the windfall from recent rising oil price and ensure it is not wasted , but for Nigeria, did we see any windfall!!!).

The bulk of the stocks in the market are in the stable/ waiting zone, so some are likely to see small recovery as usual.

Our stock pick for today is *XXXX*for Nigeria side (close above XXXX is another area for us to accumulate small quantity again).

*STOCKS WITH STABLE PRICES*:FCMB, NAHCO, XXXX , XXXX at a demand zone, may see small bounce), GLAXO, XXXX (likely to see some stability at current zone), XXXX, BUAFOOD(I may softpedal on a stock like this, may not be popular with the big funds, less than 5yrs in the

*WAIT NOT YET IN BUYING ZONE* :XXXX, NB (watch, in demand area may experience a bounce), XXXX, REDSTAR, XXXX (may buy small quantity around XXXX to Bleep fairy strong support points), ........

*STOCKS IN DOWNTREND* :ACCESS, XXXXX, BUACEM, XXXX, XXXX (look for support, Bleep)..........

*STOCKS RETRACING FROM RECENT HIGH* : AIRTEL, VITAFOAM. ZENITH

For global market, inflation and energy shortage has now taken the central stage (seems US us yet to conquer, the rising oil price, to the extent that Country is now telling the oil companies to start limiting export!!!), the effect of this is that inflation may still have some time to run: the best reprieve may only come if Russia and Ukraine stop the war (we fold our arms). So here oil is up, Gold down and market likely to open bearish.

Happy new week to all.

Mtn yet to pay since friday. These registrars now have a new trick. They hold onto some investor's dividends despite the whole edividend payment thing. They wait until the investor calls. If the investor doesnt caĺl the dividend remains with them.
Meristem did it with my FBNH dividends. When I called, they had virtually no excuse. They just said we will process and pay you. And they paid.
If the investor doesnt call, the money goes.

They know that many shareholders will not call, especially those residend outside the country who do not monitor their accounts as persons within can do.

Not just that trick. They do it to people who have already filled the form and have even started recieving dividends fron their bank accounts.
In my case, my Fbnh had since been mandated and i have beenngetting dividends for over 3years.
My Mtn paid me the last dividend without.
I have two other stocks that needed me calling.

It is searching for a bottom, hasn't found it yet. The seller is conscious of the #19 relief area. If it doesn't bounce there, journey mercies to near #17

Registrars are a big problem for investors.

I do not think Meristem is doing this on purpose. I think what happened was that FBN and Honeywell changed registrars from First Registrars to Meristem and Atlas Registrar respectively.
So any one with those shares has to fill their forms with Meristem and Atlas for those shares if they do not previously have your data.

My brother its not just meristem. But in the case of meristem, i didnt have to fill any form.
These things are supposed to be automatic.
Does it mean that investors must fill new forms whenever a company changes registrars.
Mind you, fbnh is not the first company to change regustrars. Other companies that changed, did not make such demands for new forms.

Same with UBA. I have a suspicion that until the seller or sellers are done trend continues.

Doesn’t seem to be particularly due to performance, just that the seller(s) wants out and has loads of it. If so, it looks good for accumulation and averaging down.

I don't average down. Why throw good money away when I can see it is in a clear downtrend.

You have a point, but then GTCO has not experienced full offer or full bid since march 24, and that was probably cos of mark down. Infact the last time it experienced a full anything was in April 2021.

This leads me to think that once the seller is done we are most likely going to see many full bids (or full offers).

Not averaging down is a general principle for me and not stock specific. I am happy to pay a higher price when the trend changes upward.

GTCO is no longer the leader in its sector but their fans won't admit it

Interestingly I didn't fill any e-dividend mandate form for Okomu.

Okoumo has paid dividends this year before, right?
Do they now do interim dividends too?

Indeed GTCO has dropped performance in many metrics. The interest income that dropped in 2021 Q1 persisted into 2022 Q1. In the process dropping the EPS. There is a likelihood those selling may resume dumping if 2022 Q2 doesn't show improvement.

STOCK SIGNALS FOR 30 AUG 2022
Nigeria All Share Index still in a range, this market need a big catalyst. The bearish trend is becoming boring and gives a lot of concern. We should continue to exercise extreme caution at this stage. For stocks that are falling, getting a support that will hold immediately price hits that support may be a mirage.

We have no pick for the day, no stock has any outstanding quality of showing an uptrend at the moment.

*STOCKS WITH STABLE PRICES*:FCMB, DANGSUG,........ , FBNH, xxxxxx, xxxx XXXX,.........

Scanning the market this morning, so many stocks are still showing tendency to go down further. Thus, I can see why the forum is quiet and I can feel for those who have suffered losses in this market. This is a period we have to endure!!!

Last week we saw a third consecutive rise in bill interest rates at the primary auction.

This consistent rate hike amidst tight system liquidity may hinder much anticipated market rally from half-year results and interim dividend announcements.

However the absence of a rally is an opportunity for entry into dividend paying stocks at low prices.

Yes, other things being equal, you'll receive dividends automatically moving forward. In fact, I introduced a friend to NGX about two years ago, he has GTCO, Zenith, Okomu, MTN and a few other stocks in his portfolio. He never for once filled e-dividend form but has been receiving dividends in ALL the stocks since then.

I think it depends on Brokers.

Some Brokers are fully automated, once you buy/sell it goes and CSCS and Registrars immediately.

I bought some shares through a broker on the qualification date and I got dividends without filling out the mandate form.

But for another broker, I had to follow up with the register before getting my dividends.

To be on the safer side, always leave some units of share in your account whenever you sell your shares. That will keep your name on the registers of the company for ever...
