lavida001: Nope, you would need some sort of proof of address or maybe letter from school might suffice if you're a student. You can open Revolut and order a card to get going. Sign up with the below: https://revolut.com/referral/jedidi9xv3!SEP1-22-AR If you open, order a card and do 3 transactions in the next 2 weeks, I will send £25 which is half of the Referral bonus I get. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I wonder when you people would get tired of this trope that "Nigerians are evil, and don't help each other" It's a smelling narrative abeg. You people bring it up every 2 market days and it's tiring. On this same thread, we've seen people literally go out of their ways and come through for complete faceless strangers. Me personally, I've seen Nigerians do amazing things for people, sometimes complete strangers. Some of us have as well done wonderful things to help others, but here you are repeating the same narrative everyday. There are good and bad people everywhere, Nigeria and India alike. Indians and other people also do horrible things abeg. You people will keep championing this narrative until it becomes a stereotype that the world would use to define Nigerians, and when that happens, its still you people that will scream rAcIsM 12 Likes 1 Share |

dustbin007: Action doesn't hide ooo..... The indians who people praise, it not even them singing their praise but you can visible see it and it others that praise it . They go about lifting and you can see them growing and pushing others out If majorities of Nigerians were doing it, no matter the smelling narrative, it would easily be disproven I don't know about evil but a lot of our people no dey try .... some but a lot don't. Maybe if we keep pricking our conscience by saying how it is then maybe we can change to do better . Kudos to you and all who do amazing things . 8 Likes |

The point is that we're all Nigerians and would all bear the brunt of the stereotype when it does stick. There is no superior Nigerian, home or abroad. The "fantastically corrupt" tag is still on us today. So you people should keep fanning the narrative, instead of dealing with issues separately. LagosismyHome: 1 Like |

If you are new to the UK, you won’t have a credit score. Unfortunately, it won’t make any difference if you had a wonderful financial record back in Nigeria because in the UK you are starting from scratch. The good news is you can do a lot of things that can help you build a great credit score. There are two important things you need to understand: getting a credit card and Improving your credit score. Getting a credit card. Before you can get a credit card, you should have a verifiable name. This means getting your name and records into the system. Here are a few tips for that. i. Get on the electoral register. This is basically registering to vote, and it makes it easy to link an address to your name. Visit https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register ii. Get a cheap Sim-Only contract like O2, Virgin, EE, etc. rather than PAYG like Lebara or Lyca. iii. Apply for a provisional driver's licence (if you have spent 6 months in the UK). iv. Get your name on a utility bill: gas, electricity, internet... All these are very easy ways of getting your name and record in the system. You can use easy credit card providers like Capital One: A quick check will be run to see if you are eligible. https://quickcheck.capitalone.co.uk Amex: The check is less stressful and usually quicker, bonus points are also awarded which can be redeemed later. https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/referral/oLUWAAjezk?XL=MIMNS Store cards. Stores like Tesco, Argos, etc. issue credit cards for customers with no history. Improving credit score Using a real-life scenario, my score goes up every time and here is the summary of the reasons as stated on my record. What's affected your score this month? i. Your score has gone up because you've been on the electoral register at your current address for a longer time. ii. Your score has gone up because you now have active revolving credit accounts, such as credit cards. iii. Your score has gone up because you're using a reasonable amount of your available credit. **You can also improve your record by manually reporting your rent using services like creditladder. Some banks like Lloyds will show you what your credit score is on the app. 9 Likes 6 Shares |

Hello Everyone, I saw an advert for a flat on Facebook Market place. I sent a msg through Facebook market place and the person replied that I should send a mail. I forwarded a mail and the response was that I can't view the apartment until I have completed a booking and payment with Airbnb who he said would take charge of the Rental process on his behalf. I just want to know if anyone had gone through this process and hope I am not being scammed. Thanks for your response. |

Of course you can appeal. However, next time ensure checking your work or thesis with a Turnitin student account for plagiarism before submitting. James4presh: |
