If this is properly investigated, it's possible that the wife and the husband's friend must have been doing it before. Maybe the husband woke up and caught them in the act and they had to make up the story.
Or how else could someone become so drunk as to miss his way home and ended up in bed with his friend's wife? Who left the door unlocked? How did the supposedly drunk man locate the exact location of his friend's wife on the bed in the darkness? How did he manage to penetrate the woman without she noticing something was amiss?
