That is 3 players brought in to play in central defensive midfield BEFORE Garner became available however they must still buy Garner because ChristoBam wants to be sure they want him.

I know all of this. But that doesn't even cut it in any way. Most of it is from performing past the expectations. He had a not so good first half of the season and turned it around. That usually gets you praises.

James Garner is literally the only proper CDM among all the names you listed. Which they'll probably need in a Pivot for a team that'll fight for relegation. But that's another argument entirely.
