President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Ahmed Halilu who is a brother to his wife, Aisha Buhari, as the managing director of Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC).
According to reports, the president approved the appointment after the recommendation of the governor of the Central Bank 0f Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, who serves as the NSPMC board chairman.

Halilu has headed the company in an acting capacity, following the resignation of Abbas Masanawa on May 16, 2022, who contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Katsina state.
Halilu has over 23 years of experience in the Banking industry having worked with African International Bank Limited, AIB, and Zenith Bank Plc.

He was a participant of Senior Executive Course 39, 2017 of the National Institute for Policy & Strategic Studies Kuru, Jos leading to award of Member of the National Institute, mni.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture B. (Agric), Masters in Business Administration as well as Masters in International Affairs & Diplomacy all from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
He is also a member of Nigerian Institute of Management.

This is coming barely a year after another brother of Aisha Buhari, Musa Halilu was appointed as an assistant manager and liaison officer of the Nigerian Content and Industry Collaboration Department.

Musa Halilu is said to be responsible for supervisinig the PTDF’s industry collaboration in the upstream division, where he also serves as a liaison between the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and other relevant stakeholders crucial to the activities of the PTDF
